Been a while since I made a map and I think I'll do my own take of the overdone Nazi/Axis Victory but with a twist. So, what happened when you mix TNO/TWR, Wolfenstien, Warhammer 40k, Fallout, and Command and Conquer: Red Alert series with a little sprinkle of realism? Welcome to the world of Vault War.

Premise:
8000 years ago, a cabal of super-intellectual humans from around the world, collectively calling themselves "The Harbingers", built an underground chambers called "vaults" around the globe -spreading even into Antarctica- and conducted experiments that resulted in technological artifacts and scientific curiosity millennia ahead of modern time that appears to be magical to common people at the time. These vaults are well kept secret for thousands of years with occasional artifacts being ended up being given to few chosen people including Seti I, Cyrus the Great, and Alexander the Great. All of them using the artifact to conquer the whole known world. The last one would bury the artifact with him and would've become an obsession of every great leaders who look up Alexander as an example, including Julius Caesar and even Napoleon Bonaparte, and looked after that artifact for most of their lives.

Skip forward into 1942, in the outskirt of Alexandria, the Ahnenerbe excavation team led by Doctor Ludwig Schachner found a mysterious vault door believed to be a final resting place of the Alexander the Great. Upon the door reveal and entering the vault however, they found something even more spectacular than just a mere elaborate tomb; they found a piece of the harbinger artifacts buried with the ancient Macedonian king, consisting of a sword-shaped railgun, one flying machine, and two mechanical golems. The team then sent the artifact back to Berlin where it being examined and studied by top Ahnenerbe archeologists as well as Heinrich Himmler himself for 5 years until they found out that the artifact is "magical" and believed to be made by the Aryan precursors. -A false belief by the Nazis that doesn't reflect reality which that The Harbingers themselves are racially diverse-

The fruits of the research by Nazi scientists finally beared in late 1944 where they managed to use the knowledge of the artifact to create a new type of war machines; formidable mechs powered with fusion core and armed with railguns as well as advanced jets that can wipe out the entire allied bombing squadrons in minutes. These war machines are proven successful when they were deployed on Bastogne in 1945 and more of them are produced thanks to the discovery of another vault in Bavaria where it was found to be an ancient forgery capable of 3d printing manufactory. This started to turn the tide of the war in favor of the Germans. Meanwhile in the pacific theater, the war went as usual with Japan eventually surrendering in 1945 after two Atomic bombs were dropped in Hiroshima and Nagasaki as IOTL. But those Atomic Bombings didn't made the resurging Nazis flinched as they also developed their own version of the nuclear weapon which is far more destructive than the ones the US had; Thorium bomb. The first Thorium bomb test were conducted in 1946 somewhere occupied Poland and immediately shocked the world by its blast radius and obliteration capability alone when the news of it came out.

By 1948, the Nazis managed to reconquer most its pre-1943 gains and managed to rejuvenate its fascist allies including Italy and even supplied the remnants of the pro-Imperial faction in Japan in order to make them fight back and pushed the Americans away from the island. They also pushed deeper into Russia which demoralized the Soviets for a short while and made Stalin suffered a stroke. But alas, the luck is not always on Hitler's side; aside of his worsening Parkinson disease, as the Allies managed to locate some more vaults for themselves and with the help of daring SOE raid on one of the vault compound in occupied Poland to retrieve blueprints as well has the descendant of The Harbingers (in the US it's the Chief of the Navajo along with Albert Einstein, in Russia, it's the representative of the Yukaghir People) joining the war effort, the Allies started to push back with their own inventions, making the playing field even by 1950 and liberated half of France while at it. In 1951, when the Soviet started to push the Germans from the west of the Ural mountains using their own armies of mechs, power armored soldiers, and jet fighters, both sides dropped a Thorium bomb on a battlefield, resulting in the area being contaminated and two sides got obliterated in the fireblast.

After the Ural bombing incident and the sudden death of both Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin (they died 2 months apart respectively) in spring 1952, the UN, formed by the US and its allies, calls both the German and Soviet sides to conduct ceasefire and a demilitarized zones around the Urals to be established. Both sides agreed for a reason that more bombing would resulted in the US retaliate with their own Thorium bombs, causing literal utter destruction of the planet. Finally, after 13 year long war, the world is finally relatively at peace. Yet, the hunt for controlling more vaults never cease to exist as three major powers would compete in the field of arms race, proxy wars, as well as space race.

In China, the discovery of more vaults in Harbin and Liaoning and the Soviet assistance in 1953 helped the CPC under Mao Zedong won the Chinese Civil War with KMT faction completely obliterated in Taiwan. Workers' Party of Korea under Kim Il Sung united the Korean peninsula as well using harbinger-derived techs supplied by China. A year later, the Soviets, Chinese, and Korean communists formed a semi-loose workers confederation often dubbed as "East Eurasian Socialist Confederation" or EESC, essentially making them a superstate that would support each other militarily and economically. India is divided into three warring factions with the Communist Northeast, Fascist Northwest, and Democratic South. Japan fell into a civil war between the Reich-backed Imperialists, US-backed Republicans, and EESC-backed Communists and has become one of the hottest conflict spot since WWII. The British, having receiving the short end of the stick, would have to let go some of its colonial possessions in order to get some the latest harbinger-derived techs from the US. In field of space race, 1962 was the height of it, with the US, Germany, and EESC prepared and launched a mission to land on the moon with three of them landed successfully on the surface 3 minutes apart. In just three years, the three superpowers managed to build and maintained an outpost and labs dedicated for harbinger tech research deemed impossible or otherwise dangerous to conduct on earth.

In the present day, The year in 1965. The balance between three powers is about to be upsetted as the Germans armed the Imperialist faction in Japan with miniaturized thorium missile site, prompting the US and EESC to do the same in their respective backed factions territories. A new research breakthrough on the moon is about to change humanity as a whole, and the discovery of the oldest vault in the middle of Sahara desert might shed the light about The Harbingers that humanity isn't ready to face. Who will prevail? or rather would humanity even survive this decade?
