Description The language, yeeneegahleessdee, the voice that refuses to die, exist as systems of ideas that have formed into replicators through complex interactions with one another, eventually eschewing the need for a communicative medium or neural symbiont (such as two other beings speaking with one another), existing in a state of self-reaffirmation.

They exist primarily in a near-state in the noosphere, persisting as mana on the physical world, that is, their interaction metaphors are what people see, rather than the actual entity itself. Some awahee and wonder workers who can perceive narratives and metaphors fully can see the actual critter; they have trouble describing what they see.

I am aware they look slightly like tailed bacteriophages. That is intentional.

I waffled around with them a lot, but eventually settled on a design similar to the one reported in an alien abduction case in 1951 by Fred Reagan, which were described as "metallic asparagus." I like this look. They can also fly like squid, legs-first.

The look suits them. Outta curiosity, do you have any critters modeled on encounters with the Men in Black?

I do, actually! They aren't a race, but a spirit with the self-appointed task of preventing other worlds from "leaking" in either direction. Unfortunately, they don't know how to go about it in any other way besides what a spirit does, which means they don't "get" culture, social norms, body language, or anything like that, and can never really understand it (or even understand that they can't understand it), so they tend to be "stiff" or "odd."

They can also hitch rides on Sky People tunnels between the worlds and turn into dust and cobwebs if they're stranded on Earth too long.
