So I set myself a challenge, to see if I could, *gestures*, all with the ridiculous amount of detail. I shan't show you the image that I liked to much that I issued myself the challenge, because I didn't get all that close, and drove myself half mad in the bargain.If you love me at all, please do fullview it. My god, the expression in this one, the emotion....i know this feeling, this longing... it hits home. hard.
this, is spectacular; and i know that word falls so, SO short of how wonderful this one really is. but my vocabulary has abandoned me at the moment.

I worked on this for, literally, weeks; and the emotion is pretty much why. The high level of detail was totally wasted if the emotions didn't come through, so I hair-pulled and stayed up until 2am and stared at it until my eyes ached, and anyway that's just a long-winded way of saying thank you thank you THANK YOU for noticing, thank you for knowing what this moment is like.
I have been .. been.. just a human sort of mushroom, I think! Here, but not doing much, yeesh, I need to get my act together. How are you? Feel free to send me a note if it's easier.

It's amazing, and it comes through in volumes. It's phenomenal, you're phenomenal! and i hope you don't mind, but i printed out a copy (sadly it's all fuzzy do to crap printer) and i'm planning on framing it- do you have a tag or a signature you want me to stick on it? just in case some one asks?

I don't mind at all; really I am flattered that you'd want it where you could see it even when you weren't on the computer! It's probably fuzzy, honestly, because the file I uploaded to dA wasn't all that big; it would be fizzy if printed out bigger than postcard size or so. If you'd like a higher-res version, just drop me a note, okay? It's no trouble at all.

there is a very classical elegance, i think, to your lines and rendition particularly of the woman. the colors make for some fantastic juxtaposition of emotion and feeling too. i like!

Thank you! If you don't mind, I'll take 'classical elegance' as a very high compliment indeed. I wanted elegance, elegance in all the drawing and beauty in the colors, with just enough dischord .. not too much, just a bit.. just enough to make the scene seem a bit strange, like an odd dream.

I honestly couldn't find a piece of the song that I scribbled on it that wouldn't give the wrong impression! So, it got a title from a different Neko Case song. I guess that isn't really relevant, except you know how I am with my song lyrics.
I just saw it. You wrote it, and I saw it, and it would Not leave me alone. I tried, more than once, to stomp off from it; nothing doing, I had to try to get it down on paper.. erm, in pixels.. the way I saw it in my head. I wonder if he ever asked her, later, if that was a dream he had? Perhaps he thought he'd just dreamed, the sort of dream that comes true later.

Ain't it the truth? I just kinda snort whenever I read about someone who says that they paint because it makes them feel at peace. HAH. I wish. I am a junkie. The high I get when a piece goes well is why I scrabble through the madness of creating it.
