While I know this isn't a source of origin for this (I read the previous comments), this reminds me alot of the Terran Trade Authority books, with their gorgeous brightly colored ships, flying in front of blazing star filled skies.
What i'm trying to say, is that this render hits all the right nostalgia buttons. Amazing work, keep producing awesome stuff like this.

The TTA books have been an enormous influence on me, so this is a perfectly valid, and even welcome comparison, especially coming from an illustrator that I respect and admire!

Looks a bit like something I'd seen someone make in StarMade.

I used Trimble SketchUp to model it, and Kerkythea to render the model.

Was the reference a StarMade creation then? O.o

No, it's loosely from an old paper and pencil RPG called Star Frontiers by TSR (the guys who created D&D) back when that was still a thing. SF was supposed to be TSR's competition for the sci-fi RPG market against Traveler.

You know, I hadn't realized it, but you're right. At least from this angle.

Maybe I'm confused? I though you were Kenny Mitchell, but I may have my screen names crossed? Wouldn't be the first time
