A female friend of mine and I were talking a little while ago and she mentioned how she was considering getting another tattoo, an armband style celtic knot. We got to talking about it and I agreed that I'd try to come up with the design for her and that I would try to include rats (her favorite animal) in the design.

We went through a couple of design changes before reaching this more-or-less finished product (pending opinion and changes by her). The 'yin-yang' rat design was something she and a friend came up with while discussing a previous rough draft of it and it does work better than the previous rat designs.

It was a fun, relatively quick design which took onlya couple of hours or so with a pencil doing rough sketches and trying out different approaches. Once I had settled on my approach I drew it using Photoshop and my old Wacom tablet to get the product which you see here.

The black line above the design is there for measuring and reference purposes and if everything works out correctly the design should mesh together flawlessly when she gets it inked.
