Animals of Farthing Wood Study 2: Red Fox cubs (offspring of Fox and Vixen). [Bold, Friendly, Charmer and Dreamer].

Top Left:
Bold on his back in the foreground, playing with the stick. Dreamer to the left, Friendly in the center, Charmer to the right. Sadly is the only picture of the whole litter, as Dreamer was killed before maturity.

General observations: The cubs are all a pale orange, almost cream colour, easily observed in the bottom picture where three of the litter are pictured with their mother. All have offwhite markings, and the placement of these is unique to each cub.
Note: The cubs's markings are usually outlined, [perhaps for emphasis with the lighter colour?] whereas Fox and Foxen's markings are not.

Bold: White tail-tip, cheeks, eyes, and underbelly. Individual marking is the small blaze in the upper corner of his white cheek patch, in line to the outside edge of his eye. See individual study: Bold [coming soon] for clearer pictures.
Like his father (and sister Charmer) Bold's white underbelly connects with his cheek patches.

Friendly: Fairly standard with white underbelly, tail-tip, cheek and eye patches. Like his mother (and sister Dreamer) his underbelly is separate from his cheek patches.

Charmer: White tail-tip, eye patches, and connected underbelly and cheek patches. Possesses the typical 'vixen ruff'.

Dreamer: White tail-tip, belly, cheek patches and eye patches. Unique in that she is the only fox to show connected eye/cheek patches, the narrow part of the eye patch forward of the eye connecting with the white on the base of the muzzle. Possessed the typical 'vixen ruff'.

*grumble* My laptop - which has season 2 of the AoFW - will NOT let me screenshot bits of it, there are so many clearer shots than these ones. Maybe I'll see what they look like taken with my digi camera tomorrow, if I can find the connection cord... gah.
