Good afternoon!Today I am making a quick kinda post. Lots of work to get done over here!
For todays sketch, I am posting the inked and coloured Spidey sketch from day 2, as well as a couple of others done since. I would really have loved to do a full bodied version of him in some crazy kick ass pose, but alas...These are just sketches, and colour experiments...
The Spideys on the blue background are coloured and inked traditionally. I used markers and pencils for colouring. The bottom one was my second attempt, so it turned out a little smoother and cleaner (I think).
The sketch on the green background.... I was a little ashamed of this one actually. I liked his head and eyes, but the body is all jacked up! haha. Still, it's my first attempt at some digital colours on Spidey, and so it's worth a show.
I received some cool McFarlane Spider-man comics in the mail today so I'm happy!

Not only do the pics reek of awesomeness, they are also very anatomically correct. Those huge shoulders, he'd need big deltoids for swinging etc.

haha...thanks. I don't actually work for marvel. I have done a little comic book work here and there though. Mostly for darkhorse comics.

I had to dig through my massive pile of comic books, but I finally found it.
It's the 2004 February issue of The Spectacular Spider-Man, Part Three of the Four-Part storyline Countdown. The pencils were done by... lesse... someone called Humberto Ramos.
I think it's the way you make everything so smooth and exaggerate the porportions of some of Spidey's features that reminds me so much of it.

haha...OK! Now i get where you are comming from. Humberto is like a comic book legend. I guess my style is similar to his in some ways, so i can see how you thought that. I could only wish I was anywhere near his level though. Thanks for that!

The spidey shooting his webs is awesome. I like how you've made him really skinny. I beleive that he should be realy skinny, just think about it, how could get into those super weird with as much muscle as a dragonball z character.

That Spidey is KILLA! looks kinda aggressive but still retains that spindley type athletic build of Peter Parker.

As I said, the look on the top left spidey is better than the one that some artists on marvel gave him.And I can totally see "Red-J" written all over it
The green backgrounds one make me smile.I remember Spidey's humor sense, that people have been forgetting, specially movie folks

SO much expression can be conveyed through his eyes. I think thats what makes him a lot of fun to draw too. COme to think of it the movie Spidey does have a pretty numb personality. I would expect Spidey to be a little more sharp and on the ball with his attitude. Still, I have enjoyed the movies a lot. (Except for the green goblin suit! That was terrible!!)
