Description
Good afternoon!Today I am making a quick kinda post. Lots of work to get done over here!
For todays sketch, I am posting the inked and coloured Spidey sketch from day 2, as well as a couple of others done since. I would really have loved to do a full bodied version of him in some crazy kick ass pose, but alas...These are just sketches, and colour experiments...
The Spideys on the blue background are coloured and inked traditionally. I used markers and pencils for colouring. The bottom one was my second attempt, so it turned out a little smoother and cleaner (I think).
The sketch on the green background.... I was a little ashamed of this one actually. I liked his head and eyes, but the body is all jacked up! haha. Still, it's my first attempt at some digital colours on Spidey, and so it's worth a show.
I received some cool McFarlane Spider-man comics in the mail today so I'm happy!
Thanks for looking!
J.

Those are some cool poses of Spidey! I really like the look on the one in the bottom right corner.

LOL! I dig the expression on his face! That's one thing I always liked about Spidey. You could use the eyes on his mask as real eyes to show emotions and expressions.

Thanks! Glad you like them. The traditional colours are a lot of fun to do and they look real nice on the original, which is why i like to have them floating around my drawing area.

I love your Marvel concepts, man.
Just one thing...Have you noticed that the cartoon Spider man has gotten SKINNIER and SKINNIER with every new series that comes out?

Well, even the spider-man you see on little kids shoes as a waist of roughly 2 inches. As for the 3d one? I have seen it ONCE and it was probably the coolest spidey cartoon I have ever seen.

Really awsome man!! your artwork would look cool in a spidey animated series!! it's more expresive!!
keep it up dude!!

Thanks, I appreciate it. Although an animated Spidey in this style would be too much for my brain to handle (in terms of coolness), I would much rather see it done in comic book form
Cheers!!

!awes0me!
dude, i wanted to ask you. what're the best art materials for comic art? i've been using H pencils for roughs, and rotring pens for inking. i also use a dip-pen with indian ink. what's your pick and why?
