Description Sorry for the big size but I wanted everyting to be visible @w@ .Umm..I was frequently asked about tutorial but I'm not good at this kind of things *too much ordered work required and she is lazy plus her work is always messy
X-X; ; *
However, I have saved some pictures of my pic RED PRIESTESS [link] in progress and maybe you would be interested to see it and check out how I draw my works. In case of shading I use similar techniques in my traditional pictures. If there are any questions don't hesitate to ask.
To see the full version please download it to your desktop

The work was made in Photoshop CS.

I will scrap it later .

Oh- and one more thing. If you want to see something funny look here: [link]

I always laugh at my old works XDDDD.

P.S Do you know if there is still preview pic option somewhere ?__? I can't find it...

woah, thanks a lot for doing this. i've always been interested to see/know how everybody does their art. lol 1 done.

(plus, your 'cleaning up' process/before-and-after really gives me hope for my less-than-spectacular scanner results).

how do you clear out the white part of background after scanning in the sketch? Do you trace over the original lines and make a new layer of lineart?
So basically, what did you do to get from step 2 to step 3? ^^

Beginning with step 3 I did everything on pc with Adobe Photoshop. This is a very good graphic program, plus I'm using Wacom tablet which is very helpful at digital work.

Glad to hear that ^_^.
Well.. there isn't any good tool for it. I just draw those lines again with my tablet and erase those which are very sharp and messy..

AMAZING picture, i think its cool how you show all the steps. lets the viewer kinda see whats goin on.

Red-Priest-Usada In reply to H2O-Polo [2007-01-25 11:18:42 +0000 UTC]

First of all I go to the options Edit-Adjustment- Brightness/Contrast and try to make the lineart brighter. Second, I clean the lineart using the brush with white colour and clean the dirty areas, as well as polish some messy lines ( the lineart must be scanned in 300 dpi for more detailed work).

Of course when I finish colouring and still some lines are sharp I overdraw them on the layer with my lineart.
I'm bad at explaining #_#. In case you don't understand something from my babling don't hesitate to ask- I will try to help ^^ ;.

Hey thankyou so much for posting something like this, I always like observing and sifting through tutorials so I can get a sense of how the tools work and such. And now that I've gotten a tablet as well as Photoshop, I've been experimenting with everything....still its nice to sort of have these guides to help me along with basic stuff - cleaning up lineart and learning about layering for example ^_^

Sekret twi w layerach no i tablet duzo robi ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Red-Priest-Usada In reply to tsumatra [2007-01-24 19:48:25 +0000 UTC]

Na kolorowanie linii sa dwa sposoby-
1. kombinujesz z kolorami w Edit/ Adjustment/ Selective Color lub Hue/saturation i tam ustawiasz odpowiedni kolor (najlepiej taki ktory by pasowal do koloru skory lub do ogolnej kolorystyki calej pracy)
