Description
A.K.A the Hero of Kvatch and the Champion of Cyrodiil.A young Breton male trained in the ways of the Spellsword, he escaped his prison cell deep in the Imperial City by chance after the Blades took Emporer Uriel Septim VII through a secret passage way that just happened to be in his cell. Ciel ends up having to save all of Tamriel from Mehrunes Dagon and his Mythic Dawn cult, as well as save them from an Ayleid king named Umaril the Unfeathered. If that isn't bad enough, just when he thinks it's all over and he can rest, he ends up in the Shivering Isles, where he must save the residents there from the Daedric Prince of Order Jyggalag and his Knights of Order. All he wanted in the first place were answers from the Daedric Prince of Madness, Sheogorath, about how he could possibly cure his own madness...
About Ciel
Ciel lives perminantely in the Shivering Isles, eventually becoming Sheogorath's consort sometime after the Shivering Isles questline after the latter's return. How Sheogorath returned is a mystery (even to him, as it was assumed that Ciel would perminantely remain the new Sheogorath), but when he did, Ciel gladly returned the throne back to him.
Thanks to his brief stint as a Daedric Prince, Ciel is now essentially immortal. However, his immortality is bound to both Sheogorath and the Shivering Isles; should he leave either of them for too long, he'll slowly begin to age again and will be succeptable to disease and mortal injuries. As such, he rarely leaves the Shivering Isles without Sheogorath by his side, and even then only briefly.
His favorite hobbies are reading, writing, gardening, and studying magic and alchemy. When not at Sheogorath's side in the throne room, he can often either be found in the library or out in tending to the garden that Sheogorath made for him. The Daedric Prince of Madness even invented a few new plants for Ciel to care for and study, including two entirely sentient plants - one that grows bigger than a person and eats meat with its large, petal-like jaws (preferably the meat of people), and tiny half-flower half-insect like creatures that, while seemingly harmless enough, can produce a sweet necture that acts as a heavy hallucinatory drug if ingested raw. While initially put off by these new, deadly sentient plants, Ciel has come to love them like pets, and gives them the most care out of all his plants in the garden. In return, the sentient plants protect Ciel's garden from intruders and keep an eye on his children when they happen to be playing near by.
Speaking of children, Ciel and Sheogorath somehow, through the magic of chaos and madness, managed to produce three children. Soceus is the oldest, while the twins Thetri and Esme are the two younger children. Their daughter, Esme, just so happens to be blessed by Akatosh to be the last the Dragonborn, much to Ciel's pride and joy. Despite his little girl following in his heroic footsteps, however, he still loves all of his children equally.
While never offically finding a "cure" for his split personality disorder, he does eventually come to terms with it and finds healthy ways of handling it. That doesn't mean there isn't trouble when he does happen to switch personalities, however...
Everyone in the Shivering Isles is well aware of Ciel's split personality, and (most) know to steer clear of him when he switches to his darker, more bloodthirstly half. Even Sheogorath himself stays as far away as he can during these times. Thankfully, these switches are relatively few and far inbetween, and they don't last long either, so the destruction and bloodshed caused tends to remain at a minimum (mostly...).
Ciel's favorite foods are anything sweet, and his least favorite are anything bitter.
Ciel has invented many powerful spells, including a very destructive elemental spell that has all three elemental styles (Fire, Ice, and Lightning) all wrapped up into one giant, explosive ball. He used this spell once on Mehrune's Dagon during his invasion into the Imperial City while protecting Martin Septim and ended up knocking the giant Daedric Prince ten feet backwards into the air and onto his ass. The Daedric Prince of Destruction has yet to forgive Ciel for this embarrassment, amongst other things.
Like Haskill, Ciel may seem sane when you first meet him, especially considering how mad everyone else is in the Shivering Isles, but don't be fooled: he's just as mad as the rest of them. You'd have to be, if your husband was the Prince of Madness himself! His type of madness is just simply much more...subtle (not counting the split personality disorder that he has, of course).
Ciel, for the most part, get's along well with Sheogorath's Daedric Siblings, not counting Mehrunes Dagon who still absolutely hates his guts. Hermaeus Mora and Sanguine tend to like Ciel the best, and often invite him to their realms the most often out of the Princes for recreational activities. Even Jyggalag seems to enjoy Ciel's company, despite their less than stellar first meeting.
Ciel suffers from Athazagoraphobia (fear of being forgotten or being ignored or forgetting), Kakorrhaphiophobia (fear of failure or defeat), Thantophobia (fear of death or dying), and Autophobia (fear of being alone or of oneself). He also used to suffer from Dementophobia (fear of insanity), but he's obviously managed to overcome that particular phobia. And while not afraid, he's not very fond of rotting corpses or other undead things, mainly because he can't stand the smell they give off (and frankly, who can blame him?). In fact, he just doesn't like super smelly things in general.
His theme song is the opening theme song for Tokyo Ghoul, "Unravel," sung in English by LeeanLie. www.youtube.com/watch?v=G5Z7dO…
