Description Uru ("diamonds (the card suit)" in Swahili) is the daughter of Mohatu and Ghalyela, sister of Jojo ("King Joe") and Kuishi, the mate of Ahadi, the mother of Mufasa, Takatso/Scar, and Pumzika, and the adopted mother of Awali.

Uru is the older of Mohatu and his consort Ghalyela's twin daughters. Mohatu could not be happier with his family. He has a wonderful wife, a perfect little prince, and now two beautiful princesses. His family, in his mind, is now complete.

As a child, Uru's life is fairly care free. Since Jojo is the Crown Prince, all she and her sister have to do is sit pretty and stay out of their brother's way. Of course, once they're older they're expected to take on more important roles in the pride, such as hunting and cubsitting (being royalty doesn't get you out of caring for the well being of your pride, after all!), but for now, while they're young, Uru and Kuishi are allowed to run around and goof off as much as they please, as long as they stay out of trouble. But everything changes when Uru and Kuishi are young pre-teens. After a rather frightening run in with the hyena pack (which results in their exile), Jojo, believing he is not king material, abdicates the throne and leaves the Pride Lands, thus leaving Uru, as the older of the two remaining sisters, the new heir to the Pride Lands.

To say her new life is stressful is an understatement. Mohatu, now in a panic with his son gone, practically forces his lessons upon his daughter. He feels that since Uru is starting late, they have no time to mess around, and so while he does his best to be as gentle of a teacher as he was before with Jojo, he ends up coming off as pushy and strict due to the fact that he feels like there is a lack of time. Jojo, having started his leasons from the moment he could walk, had all the time in the world. Uru, who's now just starting as a pre-teen, does not. Mohatu already is starting to feel time work it's magic upon him, leaving him with achey joins and graying fur, and he fears leaving the Pride Lands without a proper heir to take his place. The last thing he wants to see is the lands he worked so hard to fix from his mother's chaotic reign, the lands he worked so hard to keep away from his selfish brother Jafari, the lands he work so desperately to save from the Great Drought, fall into chaos and destruction. It is his greatest fear, especially now that Jojo is gone. Thus, he does not allow Uru to slack off or goof around, nor does he give her any time off, filling her time with his leasons from dawn until dusk. Ghalyela and his sister Zanta try to get Mohatu to lighten up on poor Uru, but just he won't hear it. No, there just isn't any time. If she had started a bit younger, perhaps, but not now. He will continue to train her at this pace, and Uru will become the perfect heir Jojo was not.

Uru hates her new lessons. She understands why her father is being so pushy with her and her lessons, and why he started to panic when Jojo abdicated. He has told her stories of his past, about his blind, timid mother Chinika and his ursurping father Thimba. She had met her selfish Uncle Jafari, who had once tried to keep all the water to himself during the Great Drought which nearly destroyed the kingdom. But Uru doesn't want the responsibility of being Queen. It's just too much. She would much wrather spend her days chasing after grasshoppers or counting the clouds. But since Kuishi doesn't want to step up to the plate and Jojo won't be coming back any time soon, she knows she's it, so she sucks it up and does her best to absorb her father's lessons, however boring they are. Still, that doesn't keep Uru from wishing she had more time to play and goof around like her sister does, but Mohatu instists their is no time to play, that they must make up for lost time, so no there is no play time for her. The only real breaks she gets is when her mother and her two aunts, Zanta and Alama, pull her away for hunting lessons.

Over time Uru starts to become jealous of her sister. Kuishi doesn't have to listen to their father monologue pride laws, lore, and lessons daily. She gets to sit around and play with the other cubs! It's not fair! Now she understands why Jojo left. Who in their right mind would ever want to be a King or a Queen? It's way too much work! However, just when she seems to be about at her limit, and just about ready to up and leave the Pride Lands in her frustration just like her brother, Uru runs into the rogue lion Ahadi, who saves her from nearly being trampled during a botched hunt. Despite his serious and stoic nature, Uru is immediately smitten with him, and it isn't long before she takes him as her consort. The stress of learning to rule an entire kingdom lessens up on her, now that Ahadi is here to help her. And by the time it's time for Mohatu to step down, Uru is ready to become Queen, with Ahadi as her consort.

Unlike Ahadi, Uru is more care free and rebelious (much like her grandson Simba was while he lived in the jungle), something that her younger son Takatso later inherits. Because of that, she and Taka are very close. She'd rather have fun than do boring tasks like patrol the boarders and settle disputes between the animals of the kingdom, which is why she let's Ahadi do all that it instead, even though she's the real ruler of the Pride Lands as Mohatu's daughter. But that doesn't mean she can't be responsible when the time calls for it. She does truly care about her people, so when a drought hit the Pride Lands that dried up most of the watering hole, Uru leaves to find water for her people, just as her father did many years before her.

Uru dies not long after she returns from her journey, bleeding out due to complications giving birth to her lastborn cub, Pumzika. That, along with Ahadi's negligence and temper, causes Taka to go mad with grief, jealousy, and anger, turning him into the insane monster, Scar.

EDIT 3: Added new ear markings.

EDIT 2: Changed the number of spots from 9 to 6.

EDIT: Fixed the dots under her eyes. There wasn't anything wrong with them, per say, but the way they looked was bothering me. Instead of making them fewer and big, I decided to make them many and small, like Dotty (though unlike Dotty she has them under both eyes). She has nine small dots under each eye now instead of three large ones.

NOTE: Updated Uru's design again. Hopefully this will be for the late time. I think I finally found colors that I like for her. I also update Ahadi's colors as well, so they match better with their kids. Hopefully. The main change here is that I got rid of her earrings, gave her colorless paws, and put dots under her eyes (so they have a reason to name her Uru, "diamonds", other than it's a pretty name). I'm thinking now with the dots under her eyes that I may make Spotty and Dotty related to her somehow. Not directly, perhaps (since Dotty is Nuka's, Uru's grandson's, mate) but maybe either through her new brother Jojo, or through Kuishi. Also, gave her and Kuishi a new brother, who just happens to be the one and only "King Joe"! I decided to make King Joe a son of Mohatu, who abdicates the throne as teen/young adult, thus leaving his sister Uru as heir to the throne. Uru, Kuishi, and Jojo are all alike in  that none of them want to become the Queen/King of the Pride Lands, however they all have different reasons as to why. So now King Joe is part of the royal family. As to why he abdicates, I will explain on his profile.
