Description
Apollo, twin brother to the lunar Goddess, Artemis [link] and son of Zeus and Leto. The Archer God, Apollo is often described as the "most Greek" of all Gods, and is associated with the Sun, music, prophecy, healing and truth. It is said that there is no darkness in him, and that false words never pass his lips.My first God piece! My New Years resolution was to start painting males, because I find them incredibly difficult, so I'm pretty happy with this one!

Ah, Apollo, the god of light music and reason! He is one of my other favorites out of the main 13 and he's almost like Zeus in a couple of ways. They both have powers dealing with life or death ( Zeus with his Thunderbolts and Apollo with his healing/sickening powers), they are both considered very good-looking for their age group, they both have love affairs with mortals and other almost immortals and are womanisers! When a girl turns on them, they also punish them heavily for it (Apollo with Corinis). I also love how you made his background the sun and his sisters background is the moon to show the difference, even though they are twins. Beautiful painting!

Apollo is the God of Light, Music and Medicine. Helios is the real God of the Sun.

thats true, but, apoolo is also a god of the sun, and artemis is the god of the moon.
u can say:
moon side ->artemis
sun side ->apollo
they travel whit the moon and the sun, thats why apollo= the 'god of the sun'
and i have seen this on u'r page of a side of elves.. ore somthing, i like all of the pictures u make! hope there come more...

This drawing is great because of the lack of color in it. You did a lot with yellowish tones and shading.

Thank you! I really love painting with a limited color palette, I think it's really great for capturing certain moods.

Wow, lol, this is like the fourth of your Greek gods/goddesses I've faved tonight... you deserve it! These pieces are great.
I love how your paintings of Apollo & Artemis parallel each other.

Hmmm...
I enjoyed your Celestial over Lunar because the beautiful use of color in Celestial. Here though, I think I prever Artemis over Apollo though Apollo is the brighter of the two, like Celestial was. To much Yellow for me, perhaps. There is more color in the details of Artemis.
As always though, this work of yours is incredibly talented and wonderful to have the opportunity to view.

Thank you! I prefer Artemis myself. I'm proud of how Apollo came out though, since he was my first successful male-centered painting.

Hmmm... is my guiatar... gay? Lol. jsut kidding.

To support your resolution May i ask that you do Hades at some point? I hate how he is often depicted as evil and all that and since you did Persephone it seems a fitting companion.

Definitely! Hades, along with Apollo, is my favorite of the male Greek Gods! There is no way I wouldn't paint him! I'm thinking of painting him in a monochrome style, like I did with Father Time, but in shades of blue and grey. Gloomy and melancholy, but not evil.
