Description
Tii-iii-iii-iime is on my side... yes it is!I wanted to do something different, completely out of my head with no references, in a monochromatic color scheme. So I popped in my Lord of the Rings dvd and got in the mood to paint cool old guys.

That's funny, I was thinking the same thing when it was finished! I may do something slightly similar when I get around to Odin. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks! You know, I didn't know Father Time often carried a scythe either, but when I was doing some research, he almost always had one! I was surprised, even when done as a cartoon he usually carried one. Weird huh?

heh, i didnt know that either (obviously, lol) that is strange. maybe his job is more dangerous than we thought and he needed some protection?
seemingly misplaced weapons aside, once again, this is really great work. the detail is just astonishing.

Thanks! The last painting I did was rainbow colored, so I wanted to do the opposite. I've always loved monochrome, I may do more of them.

good, because i'd like to see them I find that my paintings are more and more becoming monochromatic (sorta) recently i've only been using a limited range of colors

I notice that about your work, the slightly limited color range gives it a storybook feel. It works really well!

Sooooo many folds @_@ They're hypnotic...
Anyway, very nice job. Was this done on colored paper or did you build all that up? Either way it's impressive

Oh yeah, I'm addicted to folds! This was done on white watercolor paper, I just built the color up. I wanted to give it an old, nostalgic sort of feel.
