Description
I worked on this image with the intent of showing that the scenes captured on the ARHS Queensland Division's 'Rosewood Railway' could be almost any Branchline in QLD from any time from 1920, when the first C17 class 4-8-0 rolled out of the workshop, to 1970 when the last QR steam Locomotive was withdrawn.Using the 'Aging' setting on my photoshop program I aged this photo 40 years, putting it in 1970.
Anyone interested in learning more about the Rosewood Railway should visit their site at [link]
I hope you like it and would appreciate any comments or opinions on this image. Don't be shy, I don't Bite
Edit: I have decided to make this the first image of a series I am calling 'Timeless scenes', all of which will be from the 'Rosewood Railway' and representing typical scenes found on Queensland Branchlines from the 1920-1970 time period when the C17 class Steam Locomotives were first introduced.

in other words, a 6ft long Eastern Brown is cruising around our back yard somewhere. This snake is in the top 10 deadliest in the world (IIRC it is No.6 on the list) and it was trying to strike our dog. The sooner we find and take it out the better

Thanks. The Rosewood Railway is said to be the most accurate preserved branchline in Australia, making you feel like you are back in 1970.

Something we lack Stateside, unfortunately. Everything seems to have a subdivision, or brand new golf course, or strip mall encroaching on it.
And of course, that's not even beginning to mention the suburbanites who complain loudly about the the lines "polluting and being noisy" (because the original right of way totally wasn't there a good 80+ years before you were, and it's not like there's any signs or anything to tell you there's a railroad crossing at the end of the street. Oh wait...)

I am afraid that there are too many morons like that here too. The Mainline through my hometown has been there since the 1860s, yet people in a housing estate that backs onto it are complaining about the noise of the Diesels climbing the Little Liverpool Range over their back fences. The estate is IIRC about a year old.

What the hell is a "Clue-by-Four?" ?
Is it like a Four by Four plank of wood ?

The vintage effect is quite nice indeed.
The only two things I could criticize would be that the pic is tilting to the right a bit (thought that might be intended), and that the semaphore has the top cut off.

Sadly, the location I was in (on the top of the cutting) only allowed that shot. I had the Tripod set dead level so the tilting is the actual right of way and the surrounds. I will have to try again next time to get a better photo from that location.
