Description
Earlier walkcycles:I think I'm getting the hang of the subtle head-bob? At least timing-wise
Still got ways to go though >:I
16 frames at, 10 f/sec? maybe 9 I can't remember
Animated in Krita
If I had used reference, I probably would've tried getting the rhythm a bit better,, here I simply started with 4 key poses, added inbetweens to make 8 frames, added another set of inbetweens to make 16, which might be why it feels a bit glidey?

Quick thing that might help, muscle jiggling and bones movements.

Dud I literally got the walking pattern wrong by accident for this one (currently shows the updated corrected version)
:'0 I'm not ready yet to start adding jiggle physics, I'm still trying to get the basics right

What do you mean by safe? "without virus"? Are you asking wether Krita is a scam? :0
It's a free art program, and yes to render the animation into a gif automatically, I had to install a third-party thingie called FFMpeg,, but that seemed commonly used and it worked without issues.
I've heard people have some problems here and there with the program being laggy, but I that isn't really because of any unsafe aspects.
I don't have any complaints seeing as Krita is free, and I haven't noticed anything virus-like since I've had it ;>

Oh, thank you very much, I've been looking for a very strong art program unlike sketchbook or MS PAINT, but thank you for notifying me, I've been very careful on what I downloaded since our last laptop broke. BTW, Thank you again.

If you're looking for an art program in general, I can also recommend Medibang :> youtu.be/K9EqbUYmbyo here's an artist that uses that program, they usually include a paragraph about it in the video description, so check out their feedback! It's also free, and looks like its quite a solid program!!

Trust me, I know medibang, all I didn't know about it is it's available for laptops. If it isn't, It's ok, I can still download it in my phone. All I have to find is a stylus pen for samsung. But yes, I'm gonna try it, thank you!

Do you mean the entirety of the legs+butt, or the just the lifting of the feet of the ground?
I did notice later when looking at horse references, that they barely lift the hooves at all and realized I went a bit too high - (People also pointed out that I messed up the footfall pattern, so when correcting that, I did some minor corrections on the height of the hindlegs lifting as well)
Let me know if it still looks off :>

Crow29803 In reply to Remarin [2018-04-26 22:41:13 +0000 UTC]
Oh, I forgot what this was about. Β The hindquarters or butt is high. Β The movement is perfect. Β One older one you have it perfect parallel. Β This one just a tad high. Β But if we want to get technical, the head needs some smooth movements forward and back. Β But dang, you are talented! Β I could watch this all day.

Shouldn't the the back leg lift off the ground and then cause the leg in front of it to lift off the ground too, instead of the front leg on the side?

Remarin In reply to shockaLocKer [2018-04-26 06:56:47 +0000 UTC]
@Cemser No shockaLocKer is actually right! I messed up the "footfall-pattern"? www.rocket5studios.com/wp-cont⦠What I ended up doing is called a "parallel walk" and no animal does that naturally. It's easier to check when going through the gif frame by frame and having a graph like the link I included beside you,, I should've remembered that I always get the right/left patterns confused and double check a graph instead of going in blind :'I
I updated the main file with a corrected version (the preview image still has the old) and even knowing that that one is the wrong one, I still have trouble detecting the difference in cadence owo"

shockaLocKer In reply to Remarin [2018-04-26 15:12:18 +0000 UTC]
Actually there are plenty of animals that do the cross parallel walk
youtu.be/AocYAYgyWp0?t=5s
www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cy2akNβ¦
However, yeah, an equine animal cannot do the cross parallel.

Remarin In reply to shockaLocKer [2018-04-26 18:23:31 +0000 UTC]
I think what I did wasn't even cross parallel, but rather like: left legs 1. - 2., right legs 3. - 4.,, that kinda parallel. I can't even find any example gifs for it, because I dun think animals walk like dat

The macaque in the first link, and other small primates, do cross parallel walking.

Cheesy-Doodles In reply to DarkHeARTisan [2018-04-26 04:20:33 +0000 UTC]
It's not called moving art work ( well I guess it is lol) it's animation!. It's where a person draws the character a number of times in a different position to make a action. Like the walking cycle, it's drawn a bunch of times in a some what different pose, it gives illusion that it's moving.

Cheesy-Doodles In reply to DarkHeARTisan [2018-04-26 17:39:19 +0000 UTC]
I believe the op uses a software called krita, but I don't know much about that lol. I use paint tool sai and windows movie Maker. But I think you might be better off going with krita, you may be able to look at a few tutorials for it! β€οΈ. Just look up krita animation tutorials, there should be a few videos on it!.

Gosh darn! I always get the pattern mixed up if I don't double-check it with a graph 300 times :'0 I updated the main image file with a corrected version! (I swapped the hindlegs's pattern, since I would've had to redraw more if I were to swap the frontlegs, considering the shoulders are quite visible too)
