Description
Primarily used as a troop transport, the UH-470 Dragonfly is capable of moving up to an entire company of soldiers in one trip or two Light Wheeled Vehicles in its cargo bay. It may also carry out limited close air support roles thanks to its ability to mount various air-to-ground munitions in its massive 250mm rocket pods as well as its nose mounted 60mm plasma cannon. It should be noted that, at least according to doctrine, the explosive munitions are meant to be used to create a landing zone in an area with dense foliage rather than in an offensive role.
The Dragonfly has a crew of two, a pilot and a gunner. The gunner mans the weapons systems while the pilot flies the ship. Redundant systems allow either crewmember to assume each other's roles if either becomes disabled. Being that the Dragonfly is capable of both planetside and limited space operation, surplus ships are popular among civilian cargo haulers and as civilian transports.
