Description
So Pokémon X and Y got announced, and I just had to draw the starters! Hopefully their evolutions come out nicely. My favourite is Fennekin, then Chespin, then Froakie.

The legendaries look awesome too.

Chespin: It's strange breaking out of reptilian starters, and Chespin was probably the hardest. However it's markings and grass type made me think of a Chipmunk , so I went along with that (apart from the tail of course!) The hat made me think of the fuzzy coating ofChestnut fruits, with the green down it's back and tail being some sort of moss-like growth.
Fennekin: Yep, my favourite of the three, and obviously a Fennec Fox. Didn't change much, apart from adding quill-like fur on it's hind legs and fluffing up the face/ears. I added rounded black markings near the eyes to kind of replicate the style shown in the original character.
Froakie: My least favourite, but it has potential. Just an average frog really, with reference to the Blue Poison Dart Frog. Only because it's blue though. The white spots on it's nose are glands that secrete a mucus, and Froakie can rub this mucus on it's body to prevent itself drying out. It can also blow air into the mucus to make a bubble like foam (as many frogs do for their spawn etc) which it carries on is back to further keep it from drying out.
