Everybody has one of these lying around at home and at some point, it just seems unsolvable. Yeah, you could disassemble the whole thing, but where's the fun in that?
So, here's my solution as to how to cleverly solve it - and all it requires is a little shift in reality! What? Never heard of a probability drive? What do you guys learn at school nowadays?

Hahaha! You're lucky you just broke it if you really tried it that way.

My sister gave me one once. I got frustrated an I would have changed the stickers if I hadn't found out about a trick how to disassemble it and rebuild it.

Thank you.

I'm too stupid to understand this lol xD

I watched it so many times, what an attention trap! I have to call this deviation very captivating. ^^Β  I suppose the areas I will be pointing out are either mistakes or simply your style, so please be aware that I understand some things that I may call as flaws may just be intentionally made by you.

Let's point out the obvious first, the animation is absolutely spectacular, the transitions are very smooth and clean. I can't really find a specific flaw to point out since it looks very well done so mostly I'll just shower this deviation with compliments.

The first time I watched it, the last part when the blocks separate and disarrange appeared messy to me since their shapes collide with each other which broke the flow of the animation. But as I watched it some more, it didn't look as bad because they come together in the end.

The time tweaks when it slows and speeds up comes in perfectly. The title... how you solve it... so basically you cheat? ahaha Well, there's no cheating on the awesomeness f this animation you've made.

Over all, excellent work!

Thanks for the shower!

The last part is messy, half intentionally so. The thing is that I couldn't figure out how to do what I wanted to do. But this comes really close to it and I'm glad it is what it is now.

I've always liked cheating, sometimes it's more interesting than the game itself. I actually cheated a lot in this animation (at least twice in every regular rotation), but the good thing is that no one notices. If a tree falls upwards in the forest and no one's there to see it, is it really cheating?

Thank you again for commenting.

Lovely animation! It's very smooth and flows nicely, and it even made me laugh at the part where it reassembles itself.
Nothing bad to say about this, great job! ^w^

I was about to write the same thing as Celestol. I did not see it coming, ha! I like how smooth it is, but at the end sometimes the cubes go through each other.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RetSamys In reply to iamkathybrown [2014-06-04 07:28:03 +0000 UTC]

Well, the cubes are supposed to go through each other, that's the concept. But they are glitching on and off instead of gliding smoothly through, which I attempted to fix, but it looked horrible!

I actually clicked on the picture because I was genuinely curious about tricks for solving Rubik's cubes, but what I got was so much better. There were several times I thought the animation was going to do something else, but instead it just kept going, but then when it all magically rearranged itself I laughed out loud.Β

In short; it's perfect. I wish I could offer some sort of critique, but I genuinely don't know how this could be better. The dark background makes everything stand out, and it flows beautifully. Wonderful work!

Perfection!? Well, I'm glad no one actually sees the small mistakes I only fixed poorly.

This makes you the third person who mentions the title. I think I have to change it. Think, brain, think.

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you like it!

Hehe, an artist's harshest critic is always themself - it helps them strive to do better next time

I think the title works well - it catches you just a little off guard. :>

No problem!

I thought this would be an actual Rubik's Cube tutorial, so I was kind of skeptical to even open it, but boy am I glad I did.Β  This is just too clever, and the animation is good too.Β  Shame I'm too inferior a Rubik's Cubist to actually use that technique.

I never thought the title would actually be an issue! And now you are the second person to have that problem. Thanks for telling me. I might have to alter it.

Not pleased? Hm... what can I do about it!? Maybe you'll like the more conventional method more like this one.
Tell me, what more can I do? Is it too big? Doesn't it load properly? Would you prefer some texture, background, lighting, rounded corners, general plasticity, sound effects, music, a more attractive thumbnail? Or did you expect to find help and instructions to solve your Rubik's Cube?

If I could do this IRL with my little cube (wherever it has gone to...) I'd do it!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RetSamys In reply to Crystallink [2014-04-18 13:47:34 +0000 UTC]

Well, in theory, all you need to do is change the properties of the universe and permit the parts of the cube to be unstoppable. This way they could slide right through each another because their impulse stays the same... or something like that.
Good luck.

Considering that the cubes go right through each another...
All I'd need would be to have the same surface and the same surface parts... hm... nah, it's too much work, I'll concentrate on other things first. Especially when it comes to 3D.

Hehehe, danke!
