Everybody has one of these lying around at home and at some point, it just seems unsolvable. Yeah, you could disassemble the whole thing, but where's the fun in that?
So, here's my solution as to how to cleverly solve it - and all it requires is a little shift in reality! What? Never heard of a probability drive? What do you guys learn at school nowadays?

cool!!!!!!
i dont know how to upload an animation from gimp
onto DA can you help???

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

RetSamys In reply to XxFlamingIceWolfxX [2013-02-19 09:46:50 +0000 UTC]

Sure. Once you have the animation ready and the frames in separate layers, export it (Ctrl+E or File->Export), name it something.gif, make sure the options are all right (save as animation and loop) and click on OK.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

XxFlamingIceWolfxX In reply to RetSamys [2013-02-19 23:15:47 +0000 UTC]

So it needs to be a gif or mabey a jpeg?????

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

RetSamys In reply to XxFlamingIceWolfxX [2013-02-20 07:33:48 +0000 UTC]

It needs to be a GIF!
Unless you have a plugin for GIMP that allows you to export it as a SWF or an APNG.

I've heard of an improbability drive! Does that count?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

RetSamys In reply to ToddNTheShiningSword [2013-01-22 20:38:34 +0000 UTC]

Don't panic, the infinite probability drive counts. However, manipulating the probabilities of particles ceasing to exist in one space and popping up in another part of the universe (not zero, but very, very unlikely) would be far less spectacular in the process (because there isn't any) and far more terrifying in the results.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

ToddNTheShiningSword In reply to RetSamys [2013-01-22 20:47:11 +0000 UTC]

I never saw The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy movie, but based on what I heard, the improbability drive can be pretty awesome visually. I heard it turned two anti-spaceship missiles into a bowl of noodles and a sperm whale. That could interesting to watch bring a rubrik cube to solution.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

RetSamys In reply to ToddNTheShiningSword [2013-01-23 08:14:07 +0000 UTC]

Yes, in the movie, and I think in the book as well, the comedy transition (which has no relation to the theory behind it ) is nice and I would love to do this, the problem is that I would need to 3d model other elements and do you know how complex noodles are^^?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

ToddNTheShiningSword In reply to RetSamys [2013-01-23 11:09:30 +0000 UTC]

Noodles are the world's most complex food.

GENIUS. XD Cracked me up. I have a brother that's 6 years younger than me and he's solving these things left and right, and I can't even get 1 side. D< I think I need to do whatever you did... looks like it involves the Force X)
By the way, my mouse is working now, thank you for being so helpful!!

RetSamys In reply to MiraKial [2013-01-09 09:42:05 +0000 UTC]

Good to hear it works again. I never got past the one-side-solving... so I looked it up and learned that it is possible to disassemble them.

Yeah, nice, isn't it.
Had some trouble reverse-engineering my steps towards that constellation, so I had to manipulate the quantum structure across an infinite number of alternate universes in order to bend this structure back into normal.
I had some trouble with causality the first few tries, but I'm pretty sure I left the universe unharmed .

(I think somebody has been watching too much Doctor Who. I know I have. )

RetSamys In reply to Wolfclaw122 [2013-01-02 21:03:08 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, Doctor Who got me interested, but the holidays were only filled with the Christmas episode and with some fine Science Fiction books... old stories, the good stuff. Probability drives... dangerous technology.

Wolfclaw122 In reply to RetSamys [2013-01-02 21:07:30 +0000 UTC]

Haha! Did you like the Christmas special? I loved it! I think I'm going to like Clara.

Like? I liked it when it started. After I finished watching it, I was just like "MOFFAT!!!". There was almost some physical attraction going on...
