Everyone seems to like Jeremy, and I can't blame them; apart from the Velma lookalike, he was probably the most recognizable of all the background characters. I like to think that after "Legion of Doom," he would occasionally hang out with Jenny, Brad and company like this.Related content

Of all three of the references in that line, SOAD is the only one that I actually listen to regularly. I don't think I've listened to any Mudvayne, but I've heard at least a smattering of Stormtroopers of Death. "What's That Noise?" is still one of the funniest things I've ever heard.

Smaller text bubbles imply that the character speaking is talking quieter. In this case, he's saying that as an aside in relation to the rest of the topic, sort of a parenthetical depiction.
In other words, it was done on purpose.
