Thanks! Lots of measuring! I tried to get close, but there were still nuances that I missed. This was the first "passable" version I did though.

Ewww... Geometry. When I was learning to draw it was a pain, but it helps a lot.

Thank you for the encouraging words. I need to go back and do this a couple more times I think, but every time I practiced I got closer to the original.

You're welcome. It's a pity that there is no geometry for practice drawing hair. I'm still struggling to draw it properly >_>

One thing I've found useful in the past is actually watching lowpoly 3D character modeling videos. The simple geometry lets you get a feel of the proportions while also letting you see the object in 3D space. But as far as the actual techniques, might not be that helpful.

This is helpful, yes. I did some 3d models to understand anatomy and stuff. It helps me improve my drawing of bodies and faces, and reproducting hairs, but when I tried something original... It was such a pain. 
After all a real practise makes perfect.
