Wow, been awhile since I chose the Fan Art category.

Anyway, this is part of a little trade I'm doing with my sis, She's making a new ID for me, and she told me just to come up with something for her, so, I used an idea I've had for a LONG time now.

My watchers will recognize Hidama. I've had him for years now. Everyone will recognize Knuckles. The female echidna is Lauren's character, Liz the Echidna.

Now, Lauren made Liz to be Knuckles' younger sister. I made Hidama to be his older brother. Ever since I've known Lauren I've loved how we both have a sibling for Knuckles, plus I think it's neat that I made an older sibling, and she made a younger one.

I think these three would make a kickass family XD I've been dying to do a picture of the three of them, so, this was the perfect opportunity.

Hidama would be the model older brother, looking after the younger siblings, and quelling any disputes between them. Liz would be the beloved baby sister that both of them tried to protect. Knuckles would be the deprived middle sibling that winds up with something to make him more special than the other two, doing whatever he can to stand out. I think Liz would have a different relationship with Hidama than she would have with Knuckles. If Knuckles ever gave her a hard time, she could always go to Hidama to fix the problem.

LOL I'd feel kinda sorry for Hidama having to look after these two XD Somehow I think he could do it though, and not having their parents around I'm sure he'd feel pretty responsible for them.

DANG Lauren we have got to do an RP or something with these three. It's giving me ideas XD

And yes she and I have the same name. Don't you love it? lol!

But, yes, the big thing most of you are wondering about is the style of the picture. I just...I couldn't do it in my anthro style. It wasn't looking right in my head if I did it that way. So, after nearly a year, a little over that actually, I went back to the Sonic style for this. It was actually pretty difficult at first, but thankfully echidnas are the easiest ones for me to draw that way.

And don't get any ideas...I'm going back to the anthro style. My characters are mine and don't belong in fan art.

I'm actually quite happy with this. My one complaint is Hidama's nose...it didn't come out far enough. I was struggling with the angle of it and finally settled for this. My main objective was to make Knuckles and Liz look as good as possible since this is a picture for my friend. Hidama just got thrown in as a bonus XD

...And yes I gave them necks. That's the one thing I wasn't going to do was draw them without necks. I honestly don't see how I ever did characters without them. It's not 100% Sonic style for this reason, but I'm sorry I couldn't manage it without necks.

For once I'm happy with the crossed arms here too XD

And don't ask why Knuckles is lower down...that's just how I saw it in my head
