Mackenzie, and Kamie (pronounced Kay-Mee)

After doing Strawberries and describing her story, I just had to do the older version of Mackenzie Braxton and Kamie Rose.

I mentioned that Strawberries ends up in love with Mackenzie, but there's one other girl in the equation; the Air Element, Kamie Rose.

During the War of the Elements, Kamie is only four years old, and an 8 year old Mackenzie ends up becoming a good friend of hers, and helps keep her both calm and focused during the heated battles of the war. After the fighting is over, however, Kamie has to return to Radiant Castle to live with Kalak, the only place he believes she and the other Elements will be safe.

Years pass, and when Kamie turns 15, she has become increasingly lonely, and exploits a portal to Eries left open after Shadow's last visit. She asks the Elderstars to tell her where Mackenzie lives, as he, besides Amy and Knuckles, is one of the few people she can remember from her last time down there.

She stops by his house unannounced, interrupting a visit he and Strawberries are having. The rabbit girl is immediately suspicious of how happy they are to see each other. She remembers Kamie too from the same war from years ago, but doesn't want any other girl that close to Mackenzie. As the evening rolls on, while Strawberries tries hopelessly to flirt, using her sex appeal more than anything else, an increasingly uncomfortable Mackenzie is comforted by Kamie, who he discovers he has a lot in common with.

There is clear tension between Kamie and Strawberries too. Both girls like the same boy, and while Kamie is gentle, innocent, and very naive, she's also tough, and makes it clear very early that she won't be bullied.

Kamie, is infact, what Shadow calls, An Innocent. Innocents can be easily broken if attacked in the right way, which is part of why Kalak wanted Kamie to stay in Radiant Castle more than the others. She is a young lady with a childlike view of the world. She can't imagine anyone wanting to hurt her, and has only known love and comfort from Kalak, who she refers to as her Uncle.

In Radiant Castle, Kamie has her own little castle with star gardens and tons of exotic pets. She has both normal peacocks with their brilliant feathers, but also a rare strain of them that are both female, and have the brilliant feathers that normally only males have. They are also pink colored instead of blue. She also has white tigers for pets.

Her three favorite pets have become sort of guardians to her. One is a pink peacock named Penny; the other two are a female white tiger called Snow, and Snow's sub, a male called Rojah.

Though Kamie is tough and wields her Air Element with amazing power, remaining unexposed to the cruel world below has left her naive and childish, although she is both mature and polite. She has never been lied to once in her life, and while she is able to hold her own in an argument with Strawberries, it's a vulnerability that could land her in deep trouble if the situation is right.

Mackenzie is the "adopted" younger brother of Camillia's brother Andrew. Growing up without his mother and having a father who has to travel to make a living, Mackenzie grew up spending most of his time with the Starrs. Now that he is older and Andrew is busy at med. school, Mackenzie spends most of his time alone in his father's house, something Strawberries likes to exploit when she can run off to spend time with him.

His problem lies in the fact that he likes Strawberries, but the fact that she leans so heavily on her looks to flirt with him makes him uncomfortable at times, as he can be quite shy. On the flipside, however, he can be quite fierce, but only when he's moved to extreme anger. He fears being too hard on people, and always tries to be as easy on them as possible, which is part of why Strawberries hasn't gotten the message that he isn't in love with her yet.

Mackenzie goes by the nickname Mack, but both Strawberries and Kamie call him Mackie. He's afraid of heights, but loves gymnastics. He collects comic books, loves racing and strategy video games, and also loves math. He works for his father, doing secretary like jobs.

Anyway, the picture in the back of the two of them standing was done so you'd have a full body shot of them. The main focus is obviously the larger picture on the right. This would be after Mackenzie had fallen for the innocent Kamie, and has her caught by surprise. That's pretty central to her personality; she's easy to surprise.

I like how Mackenzie came out in the larger picture better than the smaller one. Kamie's smaller picture was drawn fast but came out great XD

This is the last time I drew them.

Old art is old X_X LOL With the characters I've already done in my new style, I won't have to post to the old art, thankfully XD

Umm yeah, huge improvement.

Expect younger versions of these two at some point in the future!

Anyway, part of the conversion project involved giving last names to characters that needed them. Kamie already had one, taking Rose from Amy Rose, who looked after her when she was little.

Mackenzie is now Mackenzie Braxton. For awhile he was my only male lynx character, but when I draw Jasper, Evie's brother, that'll change XP

Mackenzie Braxton and Kamie Rose belong to me.
