Practice sketches and more character exploration for Flo.I'm seeing her as being more of an introvert who prefers working in the comfort of the garden than having to deal with other people. While she is capable of being pleasant and sociable towards customers, it's very exhausting and takes a lot out of her mentally. She drinks nectar for comfort but also to give her some extra pep during shifts. Flo can also get a bit pushy when trying to make a sale out of pressure.
Would you guys like seeing more sketchdumps like these in the future? I do like the idea of making these in between finished drawings.

It's a very slow buildup to a short comic idea I had when Halona meets Flo in the market to get some food. It's like something I thought I was going to work on before the new year but I felt I needed to explore some concepts further, like Flo's personality and why she acts the way she does when she encounters Halona. There's another minor character concept I need to do before getting started, another street vendor that Halona meets. He'll most likely be what's coming up next for this

I'm probably gonna sound like a broken record at this point, but your advice has really helped! I haven't missed a day of drawing in my sketchbook. So when the time comes that I'm at the computer, I have a bunch of ideas I can pick from to get started, and I don't hone in or do a "set-in-stone" kind of schedule anymore. I just kind of write ideas that are on my mind or I feel inspired to work on, and go from there. I add or remove things constantly so I never feel like I get stuck in a rut

I would equate it to drinking coffee. For Flo's case, drinking nectar gives her species a similar effect- makes them energetic, peppy, and overall euphoric but it's a temporary boost of course.

Sadly we're having to cancel the audio chapters as nobody donated so we could make more. Writing is still going though, and art whenever I can throw money at SatraThai , I tried to do all the art myself, but I'm my own worst critic, better to just hire someone I trust~
The TL;DR of the tale is Space Elves and Alien Mermaids with Contemporary Rocketry. trekkette and I are also peppering in as much fantasy genre stuff as we can, like dragons replacing the role of dinosaurs, Orcs being an extinct offshoot of the Arattan (elf) species. Basically just take a generic fantasy world and fast-foward to their equivalent of our present day. (Though this was done as I couldn't use Earth for the story)

Well, I never initially planned on doing much with Flo but over time I got carried away with developing a backstory for her even though she's just a side character. I explain a bit of her situation here in the description:Β fav.me/dav0470
Basically, their business was bought out by an unknown species who are aggressive on profits and she's been put in a position outside of her comfort zone and though she doesn't admit, she wants out. I'm speculating on ideas of her becoming potential 3rd member for my two main characters for this thing; Halona and KeedraΒ fav.me/d9zhjfv

I'm still trying to figure what the best way to fling it online as a written medium would be, and what kinds of copyright I can pin to it as I do intend to have this as a printed novel some day, I'll let you know how it goes.
Getting carried away with side-charaters is always the best way to develop a proper, full-fleshed-out world. Details are where the importance is.

Well, I'm seeing it as a simple, open-ended tale of a couple misfits just trying to make their way in the galaxy. I have a lot of scenarios in my head of all sorts of trouble they can get into like other aliens trying to capture them or eat them. If you ever watched the show "Rick and Morty", that's kind of where I drew some inspiration, like Halona and Keedra realizing that though they are the apex predators of their respective homeworld, the rest of the galaxy is unforgiving and there bigger, more dangerous threats out there. The closest thing I have to an ongoing plot is Keedra (the dark blue one) is being hunted down by her own kind (explained here a bit fav.me/dari5ws ). Halona and quite possibly Flo get caught up in this mess too.
