Description
Baseline male and female for Flo's species, which I am now going to name Mothuan (they can still be referred as moth for short). Just made some minor tweaks based on Flo's design and I'm content with these as a starting point for more variations in color and proportions.I have a full summary written for their species but I will save it for a sketchdump once I have compiled more drawings.
But I will leave some bullet points of the main concepts to give an idea of what to expect:
- Their home world is calledΒ Motakhnae and they are generally peaceful and sustain themselves on a diet consisting of plant matter and sweet fruits.
- Mothuans were uplifted from giant sentient plants known as Chims, who helped guide their culture from primitive tribes to an agrarian society and space-faring people.
- Due to their affinity with the Chims, Mothuan technological advancements are geared more towards ecology and agricultural science to grow food on new planets, leaving them with an underdeveloped military.
-Β Most Mothuans strongly disagree with over-exploitation of a planet.
- They prefer to be farmers and food scientists, but they also make decent merchants/traders and they're a common site in frontier settlements.

I want to say yes because I'm still developing them. Am I correct in saying that closed species means no adoptables?

Also, out of curiosity, how far spread are they? Within a galaxy? Across multiple galaxies? Multiple Universes?Β I get curious about these kinds of things. ^v^

Ah, I'm glad ^^
Well, in the universe I plan to have them in, for now I would say they are fairly widespread- definitely not overtaking the galaxy, but common in the galactic community. The highest populations would of course be their home system and other planets they have colonized, and some integrate with other galactic societies.

I like critter lore! ^v^ It makes me happy.
Okay, so a mono-galactic civilization.Β Nothing I could really legally interact with, then. '^v^ Oh well.
That kind of population distribution makes sense.Β That's how most critters are, I think.Β Some are big on wandering, but yeah.Β For critters with a strong focus on agriculture, it makes sense that they wander less.

I would say yes? Of course they cannot reproduce with other alien species due to biology but since the Mothuans live among other species in the galactic community, romantic intimacy with other races would not be a foreign concept in the universe I am working on. It would depend on the individuals if they just so happen to be attracted and develop romantic interest with one another Β

I know, right?Β And the female has absolutely murr-worthy hips, which, dunno about you, but I'm all over. ~v^Β Either one would be awesome! ^v^

As I explained to the comment above- since the Mothuans live in a galactic community comprised of other alien races, it would not be uncommon for them to develop interspecies romance with other sentients.Β It just depends on the individuals if they happen to develop romantic interest ^^
It would be kind of like in Star Wars, or Mass Effect, if you are familiar with the game.

Love to see Flo again - dang, the female Mothuans are awesomely hiptastic

You have such a great design idea, I love the little touches of differences like the fuzz on the back of the legs or the color on the female's inner thigh. But is there a reason you chose to go with the typical delicate, round female and square, bulky male?

Ric-M In reply to LitaMaxwell [2018-07-18 14:49:32 +0000 UTC]
Thank you
In regards to the body types, it's what I defaulted to out of personal taste/preference and as a typical baseline. But I will try to vary up different proportions for both male and female for future characters for this species.

Stuff like this even be made into something playable like D&D
Not sure if you've ever tried it, but it could be something to look into if you want to go on adventures with this species/race.
Great design here
