WARNING! This story and engine class is entirely fictional. You should take this story with a grain of salt. And no, the Dutch didn't really retain many of the steam engines that worked on our railways, unfortunately.

After the Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS) put the Titan class on trail, they found out that the class was very efficient and perfectly suited to the Dutch railway network. They wanted more engine like them, but needed tender engines for longer distances. As a result, they requested a tender engine from Bea Works in 1951 that would work similarly to the Titan class. Bea Works Chief Mechanical Engineer tasked Jan van Lohuizen with designing the tender engine. He gathered comments from the NS and looked back at his blueprints of his tank engines. He made changes on the design based on the comments and turned it into a tender engine. He made sure that the prototype was tested well on the island and made revisions on the design based on the results. After perfecting the design in 1952, the first batch of five was shipped over to the Netherlands. They were a success, and another five were ordered in 1954. The class was nicknamed the 'Garg', which became its official name. The Titan class and the Garg class were instrumental in keeping steam relevant on Dutch rails. Their success cemented the idea that steam wasn't done yet in the head of the Dutch government. The amount of steam engines working on the NS would decrease, as dieselization and electrification were implemented as well, leaving the NS as one of the only railways in the world where steam, diesel and electric engines were operating in revenue earning service at the same time. The Obbeeys Railway and the Nederlandse Spoorwegen developed a closer relationship as a result of this.

After restoration work started on the Knock branchline on the island of Obbeeys, a member of this class was built for the nuclear powerplant that would be constructed simultaneous around 27 miles East of the city of Knock.
