Description
This class was designed by Maddison McCallum in 1946 for Brain's Scrap Company, after their previous engine was lost in an accident. There was only one member of this class built, despite the fact that British Railways made an order for ten in 1959. This order was cancelled in 1960, leaving the partly build engines to be delivered to the BSC, either to be used as spare parts or to be melted down.
