Description

The Obbeeysian Queen class was designed by Quinn Fulton for the Cur Beeal Steelworks in 1900. They are 0-4-0T fitted with three cylinders, the two outside cylinders using Joy valve-gear and the inside cylinder using valve-gear of her own design. The boiler had a boiler pressure of 180 psi when first built, the pressure being increased multiple times during overhauls over their long lives. The shunters were very successful, resulting in the Steelworks to order two more engines of the same design. The great success that the Queen class was, meant that Quinn was given the new position of Chief Mechanical Engineer of Industrial Design. She would go on to design a lot more industrial designs.
