Ahhhh... Knights of the Old Republic... first Bioware game I ever played. Good times. LOVED it, and it's sequel, half finished mess though it may be.I was at a loss for something to draw the other night, Artist's Block, and a friend of mine decided to help me out. We talked, eventually ended up talking about Starwas and Mass Effect, and I went on a tirade about why Darth Traya is one of my favorite villians of all time, and this is the result. Seriously, I like her character. I've heard of people hating their god, abandoning it, never heard of someone trying to kill it. I respect that.
Anyway, this is where that conversation led me. Decided to draw the final fight between the Jedi Exile, and Darth Traya. The Exile is a woman in canon, so I went with that, but her character was ambiguous enough that I had to improvise a bit. Went with a dark cloak, hood up to obscure the face, some light armor to denote her stature as a General, and added the Exile's Armband you find on the Harbinger. I gave it the crest of the Jedi order used in the time of Anakin and Kenobi, seeing as she was the one who rebuilt it.
That's about it. I know I overdid the saturation in this piece, as I often do... I need to use more midtones... Color Theory isn't my strong suit. Need to change that.

I feel yah. This game got me started on Bioware and have been hooked since.. and it lead to making the first KOTOR more epic. The color palate is interesting, they reveal her name and description in the SW book that was a prequel to SWTOR. Exile's name is Meetra Surik (spelling?) and is the preset with the white hair.

The Exile wearing an armband bearing the Jedi's symbol is a nice touch. I like this picture.

This kind of reminds me of the Dementors from Harry Potter.
Still, always appreciate that series. Kotor has probably the best plot twist I have ever seen, and I love how they build up Darth Traya.

Freakin' great! Just playing this game again, with that mod they made to fix a lot of the broken things and restore unused content. Fun stuff. Anyways, love the art, very well done!

Yeah first game from Bioware I played too. Best damn game I had on Xbox... best part is... I'm getting an update to play it on my 360!!!!!!

I personally loved the Kotor series and can't wait for The Old Republic.
I never knew that the Exile was female in canon.....it was funny watching Atton try and sweet talk to her in the beginning.
What I like in this piece are the moving lightsabers, the ones that are swinging. The motion they give off just seems right to me.
What bothers me though are the lightsabers that are striking each other. They just seem too...blurred.
The thing about lightsabers is that when you look straight at them, they're white with their color aura around the edges, but you never see the aura in the middle of the white. Here, you've got the white more uneven in places, with the color aura inside the white. I'm not saying that's bad, but it just doesn't look right in my eyes.
All in all, a fitting piece for the Kotor saga, Riptide. Well done.

Yeah, they figured every other canon character was a light side male, so they made the Exile canonically a light side woman.
And yes... I know I screwed up the sabers... but I'm much too lazy to go back and fix it. Oh well.
Ha, and yes, Atton was good. I loved all the characters from both KOTOR games. They all had something special about them. Especially HK 47... ah, the memories.
