Thank you so much for the tutorial! You might never see this or get around to this, but, may I ask how one would hide the metal under their wig? Would it involve working the wire through the net, or do you just fold the hair over it?

Do you remember where did you purchase your fake fur? I bought the cheaper brand of white fake fur and it was shedding like crazy lol. (I was like, NOPE, not using this!)
Also, love the tutorial! I was literally standing in Jo Ann's, and decided right then and there I was going to make bunny ears and came across this

Yeah, I bought mine at a local fabric store, but I'm pretty sure you don't have that store in Amercia, sorry : ( BUT, I just bought this www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0089V4YBS⦠for a new costume, and it's lovely!
Thank you, I'm so glad it's helpful for someone<3

I have a problem D:. I made them out of the same material and though I use a thick hairband, they keep slipping over my head...

Rirukuo In reply to Ilucia [2013-09-01 13:05:35 +0000 UTC]
Oh no : o Does your hairband have teeth? Like this www.stone-bridge.co.uk/ekmps/s⦠or i00.i.aliimg.com/photo/v0/4494⦠? It actually helps a lot! And if that isn't enough you could glue or tie some elastic band at the ends of your hairband and then tie that around your head. Hope this helps!

How would you attach the ears to a headband because I need to make ears for my Reisen cosplay (( Touhou))
π: 0 β©: 2
Velpi In reply to Unkami [2013-05-28 02:02:09 +0000 UTC]
I'm actually doing a cosplay similar (Tewi, to be exact) and like the tutorial says, you make the wires sticking out rather long and I weaved those long wires into the wig itself. They stay up just fine, but another way to do this is with a headband.
With the headband version of this, you stick the wires through the wig mesh and braid/tie it around the headband inside the wig so the headband would just go underneath the wig and it makes it a pretty stable foundation and keeps your wig in place too.

Rirukuo In reply to Unkami [2013-05-14 22:08:30 +0000 UTC]
I usually just wrap the wire around the headband. But you can also do it like this ([link] , which is a bit more comfortable.

What type of wire did you use? Is it a coat hanger or armature/craft wire, and by chance do you remember the gauge? I have some aluminum wire that I hope will work.

Rirukuo In reply to princelinkofhyrule [2013-01-31 17:44:14 +0000 UTC]
I'm sorry for the late reply!
It is aluminum wire. I do not know the gauge, sorry, but the diameter of the wire is probably about 3-4 mm. Hope that helps.

I get why you think using fur is cruel (I hate when animals are killed for their fur) But did you know that the Native Americans thought it was disrespectful to the animals spirit to let its body go to wast? They used all the meat, fur, and bones of all the animals they killed.
π: 0 β©: 1
Rirukuo In reply to Erigyr [2012-07-06 11:20:30 +0000 UTC]
That is a nice thought! But the native Americans killed animals because they had to. If they didn't catch any animals they would have died of hunger. People nowadays kill animals because they think it's fun or because they are vain and want its fur. And when they kill animals for food, they do it in such large numbers that half of the meat goes to waste. I'm sorry for the long comment, but this is a topic I really care about. But I'm glad you're against fur, too!
