Description
I usually don't ask for a full view, but just looking at this one, it's a must to see all the good detail!Hedran has alway been the kindly, respecting, and shy but cute character of mine. There is however, a small small bit of him that is the fighter. This was brought out in a (rather dormant at the moment) rp I started call "Crimson Chains" where people were almost literally plucked off the streets and put in illegal arenas where the fighters were slaves forced to fight for their lives for the entertainment of others. Hedran was the unfortunate one to end up in that predicament.
This started out as being Jess's other commission (she asked for Hedran, being his first fan, aside from me. XD), but I liked to so much that I began to think that I might just keep it and put it into competition at the fair. X3 Don't worry Jess, you'll still get your pic of Hedran!
I had tons of fun coloring this one last night, since I had no internet access to distract me. Putting a picture into the County Fair for judging had been one of my many goals for the summer, so I have the hard part done, yay! I just have to get an approval from my Mom (I'm kinda nervous about this one. My parents tend to be a little edgy about pictures like this, although I would say it's THAT bad.
I tried hard not to get out of the lines too much, as is my habit, although I was looking for a more rough look, like in the background (which was actually very last minute, oops!). I was also looking for a more dynamic shading, so it looked kinda like cell shading, but kinda not. I tried to get the metalic look on the chains and knife, although I'm not sure if I quite got it right. I used white acrylic paint to do the highlights on the chain links and in Hedran's eye, which made me consider putting it in the "Mixed Media" spot, although I eventually put it here, like with the rest of my pictures. Where to put the shading and highlights was a big pain, as I was undecided on where the lightsource would be exactly. The chainlinks were a big problem during inking, and quite a few ended up rather warped. If anything's going to boot me out of a good place, it's those two things. However, my hopes are still high. :3

Yes, it's fun to have people obsess over your characters. Sorel definatly has the most fangirls, but Virtue has one the hearts of all of my real life friends. Probably because they're annoyed over my obsessing over Sorel. >w>;
Aww... poor Hedran. I like all of the scratches and tears, though. A great picture, yes, but still... poor Hedran.
And about that Hedran picture... uh... it's done, but my lazyness forbids me to scan it. But! I WILL get it up this summer! = D;

You better! XD
Poor Hedran indeed. He got surpremely bashed when he first got in the arena. D: But that's the appeal of slavery rps, no? *hunting knife in head* Yeah, one reason why Hedran is only in ONE of those. Some bashing is fun, but too much is cruel. DX

Thank you!
Yes, it's great fun isn't it? The only thing is that poor Hedran is terrified of Jess now. XD
