Description
OK, a couple people asked for patterns for my wallets but I realized they would probably need a little more information so I put this together real quick (apologies for what are probably my numerous spelling errors)how to do a blanket stitch: [link]
If you have any more questions about anything on here just ask!
I did put up parts of my patterns on stash and you can find them here:
pokemon: [link]
skyrim: [link]
If you download and unzip the files you will notice that they aren't very complete patterns but with those you should be able to cut out the remaining pieces by tracing over different parts of the ones I have provided. I also don't have a pattern for the main outside and inside pieces as I gave you the size on here. The card holders aren't here either as I gave you the size of them as well and I tend to just randomly cut into them without much planning so I don't actually have a pattern for them.

I hear ya. It would really be helpful to keep more than one save file. It could prevent a lot of blunders where someone doesn't know what they are doing near the beginning or if something goes wrong that you can't have known would.
Apparently they spawn behind Maul's place, too, and those are the only two spawn locations. We should be able to buy them, though.

especially since it's not always clear what the parameters for a mission are or when a quest will fail
got Quina killed by accident because I didn't complete the quest to find her before going to Gran Soren and I had saved on the way while going there
I've bought a couple already but they're 10,000 - 20,000 a pop so it's not something i want to do regularly... but man it's just so much nicer than running all the way back ughhh

They're kind of willy-nilly about how they aid you in quests. I understand not wanting to lay it all out, but a little info couldn't hurt and would keep us from talking to the same person over and over again as they move about town with a question mark.
I shall laugh at this unfortunate misadventure. XD And now I am done. Did it make you go back?
Gold is hard to come by unless you do a BUNCH of "kill this many of this" for golden weapons missions. I've got one now that will reward me with "The Golden Bastard." I know it's a sword, but I find that entertaining.
The wiki article also mentioned something called portcrystals, which you can apparently put down wherever you want and then warp to with ferrystones. The article also said they won't go away when starting a second file after beating the game, but I didn't read any further to avoid spoilers so I know nothing else about them.
I now found the griffin pillagin' away on the townsfolk and it also ran away after about half a meter of damage.
(on an entertaining note, I found a plate helmet that requires buckets to be fully enhanced; I have no buckets)

I couldn't go back =\ she's just dead I guess. Oh well I wasn't very attached to her anyways
really? I seem to have too much gold - and it started with that Golden Bastard sword haha - it sold for over 100,000
and yeah I read a bit about the portcrystals - they sound handy but I've yet to see one
haha, I totally went bucket searching for that helmet - they're all about in the castle
and hmmmm I was just turning on my game and it seems to have frozen while checking save data... this could be bad

That's somewhat sad but also somewhat "this really doesn't matter because she's supposed to be a major character but isn't" happened.
You don't get anything for the quest except a cutscene.
I had a whole bunch of gold and then I had to spend a bunch. I do still have more than I need but hey, it can't hurt to keep gathering.
Me either.
I'd be tempted to go searching for them if that helmet didn't make me look like a doof. I'll stick to an upgraded iron helm. XD
I think it keeps a save backup kind of like PokΓ©mon games where it will take you to your second-to-last save. I don't know though.
Any luck?

RoochArffer In reply to SporeRedland [2012-07-14 18:34:52 +0000 UTC]
i still woulda like that cutscene... ah well. she was sorta weird anyways... how did she make it all the way to witchwood unarmed anyways?
I dropped a lot of gold on making a forgery of my gold idol
I think most of the helmets make you look like a doof. it's practically a requirement of the helmets... currently I have my character wearing a circlet haha. do you know if there's a hide helmet option? I always get to attached to seeing my hair
and yeah, it's working fine. I replaced my PS3 hard-drive a while back and ever since then things have been glitching out on me whenever a game starts... I should really do something about it but I'm not sure what to do...

She was an ice mage and a healer, if I remember right from when we fought wolves.
The achievement/trophy for doing all quests is going to take at least two playthroughs (siding with Maul makes another quest ineligible with different bandits).
So much good could have come of that... Oh well, fake gold thing. XD
Leather hats look like they're made of newspaper stuck to your head.
I kind of want to do that as well, but I haven't found any option to do so. It might be a rarity you can buy from that one pawn salesman for riftcrystals.
I'm not really sure why it would do that. I've had a similar problem loading saves created on my old Xbox hard-drive that are now in use on the new one. I don't know that you can do anything about it. :/
We've gotten a lot stronger today. I think I killed three cyclopses, two chimeras, an ogre, and that griffin flying around Gran Soren.
That griffin was the most epic fight I've had in that game to date. It took off while I was hanging on to it and I got to bring it down Shadow of the Colossus stye by stabbing it in the neck and wings. At first it's like "Whoo, going down!" and then "Oh, going down. Hello fast-approaching ground." He landed in the shallow water of the river and killed a saurian or two on impact.

that sounds amazing I have to play moooore - I was working and drawing today and last night so I haven't done anything productive =B Oh and I had to stop and draw my character of course haha

Apparently she's just got a hidden can of awesome power somewhere.
I think he's in the encampment.
I don't know about Google. Half the results say "I don't know anything about this but it happened to me so I replaced mine," and that's not the least bit helpful on a help forum. XD
Funny, I was told I didn't do anything productive because I spent like five hours playing today (and will probably go back; I actually time how long I've been playing based off of how long ago messages cropped up on dA). It's like opposite day.
I wanted to know if I was right about the bandits thing and it turns out I was not. You can do both since the leader of the rival band respawns, but I have to wear a dress to talk to her by tricking the leader into thinking I am a woman (bandits have notoriously poor eyesight). And it turns out I wasn't supposed to kill the griffin yet. I didn't read much further to avoid spoiling anything, but I did see DO NOT KILL THE GRIFFIN YET. lD

dangit I don't want to run back there
yeah... it's hard to find what you're looking for sometimes but it's usually there... if I need a new one I will be sad... especially since I had to borrow a friend's exterior hard-drive to transfer all my files and I kept it for months for no particular reason and I juuust returned it and I'd be embarrassed to ask again
hmmm I just killed my first griffon (it was awesome)- which griffon aren't you supposed to kill?
and now a chimera too
and is that why there's a trophy for dressing a male character like a woman?
π: 0 β©: 1
SporeRedland In reply to RoochArffer [2012-07-15 05:02:25 +0000 UTC]
You'll have to at least once in the near future. It is no less of a trek than ever. lD
True, but I think they'd understand. Game consoles can be really finicky sometimes.
I guess not the one I killed flying around the city, which apparently respawns because it came back to kill bandits. How kind of it.
I think it's referring to another griffin that is quest related. (returned to wiki) Yep, it meant the quest one, but I don't see how anyone could run into that one beforehand considering how far off the path it is. (it essentially drops a portcrystal, which explains why I found it in the article about them and the bandits)
Now you must kill them all. Mwahahaha!
I hope so, otherwise I just obtained it to be ridiculous. XD
Turns out it works on ogres, too, since they target "female" characters first. (wiki, not field test)

i like that griffin
i want to fight griffins now
i want to fight a griffin that flies higher before getting blown up
plus i just switched to fighter class to get an augment (and yes they do stay with you through vocation changes if you hadn't figured that out) that lets me hold onto giant monsters longer
i keep almost buying the women's clothing for fun

There need to be more griffins. :I
Gryphinscale Armor is awesome, by the way.
Huzzah! I was hoping augments would stick! I'll start work on those as soon as I get the last skills for the fighter vocation. (springboard provides a lot of fun just launching your pawns about in town or boosting your teammate up to grab a monster)
Well it's not as much of a challenge for your character to wear it, is it? I swear, it's five times more uncomfortable than chain mail pants, and they chafe. XD

The shops in mine just started selling the full set. I wish it was compatible with the assassin vocation, but at least it's good for the magic-knight vocation.
Pawns don't seem to know how to do most things.
We were walking along in the capital's market when all three of my pawns suddenly yell some variant of "I am soaked!" followed by "gained money pouch." Turns out gold pouches spawn in the fountain and some people just can't resist the shiny objects.
Another time they carried an injured pawn to me, which normally would be cool, but I was carrying a bandit. They didn't want to trade so I just chucked the bandit off the cliff and picked up the pawn.
And it's only a real trophy if he kills a cyclops while wearing it. C:
Made a new friend. His name is giant impossible to kill golem with hard to reach specific weak points. He also has an exploding death ray.

I'm considering switching to the assassin vocation for a little because it looks fun but I am hesitant to leave my giant bow of death...
oh yes, the money in the fountain... my pawns go for that too. I tend to go pick up the money at the top of the fountain statuary that I can get to without getting soaked.
well I am getting better at killing cyclopses
ooh I haven't seen one of them. I do have arrows though so hopefully I can shoot the weak points? you know... while not getting hit by the death ray...

I really don't want to leave behind all my heavy armor to switch, either. lD
Chimera plate isn't as cool as Griffin scale, but still.
Pawns are crazy little monsters. And I am still scouring the city for one more war bugle since I know they respawn on top of the walls...
Every time a monster gets easy to kill, they make a bigger one. It's like DragonBallZ all over again. XD
They only started showing up after I did a minor quest in the Witchwood. I think arrows would do well (can't tell because pawns can't aim) but I know climbing is a bad idea and magic is meh on them.
Getting kind of bothered by the fact that I've gone everywhere I can and the western HALF of the map is still fogged up and sealed off.
Still wonder where the hydra went. And the drake is still unkillable. I tried. It had fire.

It seems to repeat with new skins of old armor after Chimera. It's at ebony which is identical to iron only black.
Don't worry, the characters say that it's not defeat, it is survival. And they say it a lot, but that doesn't make it any easier to cope with.
Do you have a bunch of Harpsund milk/sauce/juice? That stuff is the best.
It just happened again in my game. What's this? Cyclops is evolving! Ding da ding, ding da da ding da da ding! Cyclops evolved into Massive Unholy War Beast Cyclops. Have a good day.
That tower is a heck of a sight though, isn't it? (I went back and found a bunch of chests that I couldn't get the first time due to the griffin and all; Anchor to Heaven staff and Harpy Cloak)
About the hydra, I found it. It's not like last time. It kept trying to swallow my pawns, and it succeeded once. Poor Billy the ranger. He's just lucky I'm familiar with Hercules and new I could free him by cutting off the head with a fire blade. The other pawns were totally freaking out. 0_0
Ooh, you should be purple. Enemies hate purple. Except for Hellhounds, they just hate life and all humanity which is why they breathe fire in packs.

that's helpful
and I did make it through the griffin fight. oddly bandits in the dark are harder for me to fight than griffins. well it helped that i spent the whole battle in the doorway to the arena just shooting at it where it couldn't reach me. griffons are kinda like earthquakes in that way... just stand in the doorway.
the tower is pretty cool... maybe i'll go back there a couple levels from now... I'm trying to get my map explored some more
that sounds unpleasant but entertaining

Cursed bandits always pilfering like some sneaky pilfer sneaks. "No longer here? You stole them, didn't you? You're some sort of sneaky, witch thief!"
That doorway info is pretty useful. We don't have earthquakes here so I had no precedent for the situation. XD
There should be some generated notice board quests that go back there.

always gotta kill the bandit arffers first, too. and they always stand so inconveniently far away...
oh haha, well I live in California so you know xD the whole state is basically one big fault line
we have earth quake drills in school. get under your desk and cover your head or stand in a door way
course I've only ever been in one earth quake and it was really tiny. I stared at a swinging lamp and didn't move out of my chair - my dad walked into the room and stood in the door way and was like, "aren't you supposed to be under a desk or something?"
how fun. I keep not doing the escort quests because eww. It's coming back to bite me though. Missing chances to impress people but at least they're still alive... mostly.
ugh, I feel like I screwed myself over so bad by not saving Quina though because apparently the quests in witchwood related to her are somewhat important and every time I google how to do something, it comes up that I should have done the Lost and Found quest and then I could do whatever it was I was looking up. I looked up recommendations for where to put your first portal stone and it was at this place in witchwood I can't access because I missed that quest and aaagh

Thinking of dogs with bows on rooftops...
I figured you guys had drills for 'em like we have drills for tornadoes. The earth wants to destroy different states in different ways. They're always like the "duck'n'cover" drill for atomic bomb survival.
I think he was testing you on your preparedness level.
I only did one of them, and it turns out they're chapter related. :/
I'm not really sure what will happen in your game without Quina. She's got a pretty big role in the ending (not saying further on that; extreme difficulty happens) so she might just respawn. There are two other quests for Quina and Selene that should fill in any of the gaps from that one you missed.
Is it the spot where the trail splits in three north of the encampment? That is a really good spot. (I don't know if I missed something or if it's supposed to be this way, but that one portcrystal was all I ever got in the game even though it says you can have 10)

RoochArffer In reply to SporeRedland [2012-07-16 18:52:12 +0000 UTC]
for atomic bombs drills you're supposed to find the nearest fridge and hide inside
I've heard that the character at the end differs I think...
and I'm pretty sure I just can't do any of the quests where Quina or Selene are involved
and no the spot was like... you come out of witchwood through Selene's "backdoor" where you end up on a cliff somewhere near the encampment and you put it on that cliff so you can access the encampment, cassardis, and witchwood from the same portcrystal. but I can't get to that cliffside because I can't do the Selene quests because Selene died
and yeah you get one portcrystal per game but they stay with you onto your next file

Oh, that spot. That is even better than where I have mine now. You should still be able to get there just by getting to the end of the Witchwood and going uphill.

It should just be to the left of the tree with a path heading north through the fog.
There is another door under the tree that the pawns keep saying is "blocked by strange, unnatural, almost humanlike rocks" but that door doesn't leave the Witchwood.
Gun of a sun frazzle bram gah! At least we're already transporting the Hydra's head to Gran Soren in my second go. You get to keep all your stuff, skills, gold, level, everything. And I found a riftstone in Cassardis that teleports me to the endgame at a higher difficulty. I'll pass on that for now since I changed my vocation. I keep trying to block and instead pull out my bow. lD

There's more Witchwood back there and I'm honestly not sure how far it goes. I knocked out two mist generators but half of it was still shrouded. And the unnatrual rocks are everywhere, sleeping.
I endeavor to reach the higher classes once this introduction is passed. I've seen assassins go invisible and rangers pin people to walls...
Doesn't the assassin use a bow as well? His sword techniques (from where my fighter got to) seemed very basic compared to daggering.
Then you can summon puppies on the end of the arrows to inflict heedless infatuation on your enemies, completely distracting them from the giant fire arrow following the puppy.

i imagine it's not much use for an assassin to go invisible if they have three pawns following them around
i've yet to pin someone to wall because there never seems to be a very convenient wall nearby and i like the other techniques better

I think maybe invisibility just stop them from targeting you. I'm not sure. The variety of assassin weapons is definitely a bonus.
I have yet to really do any ranger things.
Mystic knight is fun. You get to counter by shooting magic from your shield, create a magic barrier, set up a gravity well for smaller enemies, and leap into the air like Thor followed by a falcon kick. Slow but very powerful and tanky.
You need some of those skills to survive near the end of the game, especially after things happen.
Puppies are fire retardant. It's a natural immunity built up from contact with hydrants.

That would be pretty nice...
I just went through the pages to check out all the skills and learned something very interesting. Your vocation determines your skill growth on level up. The longer you stick to one, the more its attributes affect you, up until you break Lvl 100. That is a long way off and apparently not the level cap.
It is a lot different from the other classes. I guess all of them are different, but this especially stands out.
Then you must run. You must run really fast.
Could be. I would not want to be in the profession of hydrant repair in that neighborhood.

That is a bit easier. I noticed that, too, now that I'm playing as a strider. I've kept the same equipment since reaching Gran Soren (it's pretty good stuff; it takes hellhound pelts to enhance it).
Fighters need to constantly upgrade equipment to stay alive.

Or a wall that says "it appears cracked but there is aught to do here now." It's the "now" bit that has me interested.
Some cracked walls can be broken by explosives, either picked up or thrown by an assassin (awesome power, by the way).
Archers do not get the fancy stuff. Fancy stuff is really heavy and they need to move about. Heck, male archers don't even get armor for their armpits. Both the chest piece and arm guards have an area cut out around the armpit.

There are breakable walls in the Greatwall and the Quarry. And like always with these things, these are just the ones I know of.
I discovered a giant tunnel beneath the Shadowfort going to an arena, which alone would be interesting, but beyond the arena is a giant gate into a black tunnel that says "enemies, they are near" and the pawns say "that tunnel bears the stench of death; it is massive; what could live there?" I want to know and then promptly kill it.
Most of them stay asleep aside from the heavy metal golem. (the music and its body)
Not in this game. Mwahahahahaha!

i think i've been in that arena - is it the one where there was a cyclops?
i half thought you were kidding about the lasers but no they are pretty scary lasers - there was a weakspot on the hand and that was really annoying to hit - but arffering works decently well against them... though I did end up just climbing on them as at least you can't get lasered there - its a bit funny that the safest spot in a monster battle seems to be on the monster itself

That's the one. I expected an actual shop upgrade when I turned in the idol. Madeline got more stuff when I gave her an idol.
And I know about the gold one, but I kind of messed it up and didn't want to go back and get it so I just earned a gold egg.
That hand one is always the last spot. The weak points don't change but the shut-off switch does move.
Unless it's an ogre. Ogres are not safe to climb because they DO A SUPLEX AND THEN TURN OVER WITH A BACK SLAM! OH, DID WE PROMISE YOU A SHOW ON MONDAY NIGHT OGRE WRESTLING OR WHAAAAAAT! DOES THE ARISEN IN THE BLUE CORNER, WEIGHING IN AS A MEASLY HUMAN, HAVE WHAT IT TAAAAAKES TO KEEP STANDING TOE TO TOE WITH THESE MASSIVE TOES? LET'S FIND OUT!

madeleine is no where to be seen in my game as far as I can tell - is that to be expected?
the answer is clearly to climb on the front of the ogre - I've had one backslam me but it didn't seem to do anything haha
and I'm a measly elf thank you very much

She's supposed to be hanging out in that abandoned house where you got her giving something to Salvation.
I missed it the first time around because it never tells you she's there.
Jumping on the front of an ogre always feels like you're getting into a tickle fight with the beast. Enough weight and you can push it down where it can't get up like a turtle.
Who knows, in this world that might make you a humelf.
