Description
Seeing how Christmas is soon! I'm back in my Nutcracker mood.I'm happy Barnes and Nobles has a Nutcracker theme for there gift cards this year! It ROCKS! I finally bought the two original Nutcracker stories! The original Hoffman story is amazing! I love it to death.
Looks like crazy hair runs in the family. This is "Christian Elias Drosselmeyer" when he was MUCH younger. Before he lost his hair, his eye, AND while dealing with the whole Princess Pirlipat accident.
The author had a sense of humor, he described young Drosselmeyer as a handsome young man, who had HORRIBLE fashion sense. One of the king's rewards to Drosselmeyer if he could find the cure to Princess Pirlipat
's curse is a new and fashionable coat. hahaha!
(and yes he's supposed to be really short...)
More Nutcracker art will come soon!

AH, one of the few Christmas tales I actually enjoy, along with "Christmas Carol" (Scrooge rulz XDDD) I like how you portrait him. He actually looks like the kind of distracted guy I would think of

You wouldn't get mad at me if I said he reminded me of Fujimoto from Ponyo, would you?
Either way, great design! I like the expression on his face. ^_^

Fujimoto??? OH! jeez, I forgot about that guy.
I actually haven't seen Ponyo, but I know who your talking about. It's the hair probably, and the big nose.
^w^ It's just a first sketch, so I'll probably toy around with it a bit more. Maybe tone down the hair and nose haha.

Barnes and Nobles is actually selling the original
I had just bought a Nutcracker picture book and was about to leave, you know that section in the doors where they have discount books? I found it there! I would have missed it if I hadn't looked at the last second.
