Description I'm sorry that this picture is so gigantic, but this tutorial will teach fursuiters how to make their own fursuit heads with wire frames. I know that most tutorials use foam, but I wanted to be different.

Wolfbird's "follow-me eyes" tutorial can be found here: [link]

Also, if you use my design for your fursuit, please give me some sort of credit! It would be great if you let people know that RoseHexwit helped you with your fursuiting. :3

EDIT: I submitted this tutorial several years ago. It's very outdated. Haters are going to hate, but I've made two heads since this one that look WAY better.

You commission me? That would be funny, I have not even finished my own head yet XP. Glad you like my stuff.

Well, this is a pretty good and useful tutorial, especially since I'm just starting out on building my own fursuit, and I need to brush up on basic construction. But I honestly think it would've turned out better with longer fur. That way, you could brush the fur over the seams, to make them less visible. With all due honesty, I also think it might have turned out a little better if, in addition to longer fur, you bought taxidermy eyes (aka fake glass eyes) and perhaps a taxidermy nose,(can be bought at beetlecatproductions.com) though your use of Model-Magic was clever and practical. You can also buy some cute little finger and paw pads to put on your handpaws. I also reccomend furring your hand and footpaws, they look a little flat. Once you add fur to your handpaws and footpaws, they start to gain better dimension. And have you ever thought of using foamcore or some material like it to give the head a more sculpted form (brow line, other facial particulars)? It would be waay less dangerous than unsoldered wire. The teeth look a little.. unrealistic, and if I were you, I'd go with either a full mouth of high-detail teeth or just the canine teeth poking out. However, I'm impressed that the jaw turned out so well, that was a good job on your part.
..But hey, all my advice is more or less textbook example... I have very little experience in the field, myself. I really have to get around to starting my own fursuit one of these days...
I'm really sorry this comment's so long!

The craft store I used was JoAnn. You don't need to use these exact products, though. I'm sure that any other type of copper wire would work fine.

This is a nice way to make masks, but I'd like to crit some of it.
you could try using more wire to make it a but more sturdy ( wire mesh would also work, I want to try using it sometime).
The final mask seems to be a bit crooked too.
You could also put a bit more detail and dimension to the frame as well.
Wit the fur, you could have used longer fur, and a different way of putting it on.
Try making the fur pattern and sewing it together, then fitting it over the mask.
I might try this sometime, but add my own things to it.

Oh, I definitely know it's messed up. It's more stable than it looks, but the nose was crooked from the start. I put more effort into straightening the one I'm making now.
As far as furring goes, I found a new method of adding it to the head that would eliminate all of the ugly creases.
If you do end up using this basic idea, then I wish you luck! Thanks for your comment!

Well, in the picture of my finished head I wasn't wearing the little neck-thing that I made. As for losing an eye, I have glasses to protect me. :3 I'm also pretty sure none of the wires are poking out. They're either glued to the fabric or to each other.
Thanks for commenting, though.

I hate to say this, but using wire in this way is MASSIVELY dangerous. Yes, wire-frame heads are possible, but wires are almost always soldered together to prevent loosing an eye or gaining a nasty little facial wound. This method used to be fairly popular....way back when....There is a SERIOUS reason why almost all of us use foam now. It is much safer and easier to work with. Also, find better fur as well as a different way to do eyes. Skin Showing=👍: 0 ⏩: 0
