Wait, so Robin and Batgirl existed before Gordon became chief?

Yep. I haven't made a timeline yet (but I do plan to), so this may change, but I have Bruce being an orphan at 12. He trains in Gotham with tutors, trainers, and Alfred until he's 18. He then travels the world. At 21, Bruce tries join the FBI until he realizes the justice he wants won't be found through official channels. He then disappears again and meets up with Ra's al Ghul using the alias of Henri Ducard (ala Batman Begins) and trains with
the League. Until he realizes their concept of justice is not what he wants either. Bruce returns to Gotham at age 30, having unknowingly fathered Damian while he was with the League.
Bruce becomes Batman. He makes allies with Lucius Fox, Harvey Dent, and Detective Gordon (who quickly becomes Sgt and then Lt after the arrest of Maroni). The relationship between Gordon and Batman is strained when Harvey Dent becomes Two-Face and Gordon gets put in charge of the anti-vigilante task force.
About this time, Tony Zucco makes a move in the power vacuum left in Maroni's absence and the Graysons end up dead. Orphaned like Bruce, Dick Grayson becomes Robin,
Barbara Gordon, like all teenage daughters, disagrees with her father; specifically about the Batman's role in the city. She takes to playing vigilante on her own... eventually joining up with Batman and Robin.
After a couple years of this, as Dick and Barbara are graduating high school, and Gordon gets Captain bars and placed in charge of the Major Crimes Unit, Joker turns up.
Gordon proves to be a thorn in Joker's side, so Joker shoots Babs (not knowing she is Batgirl, just to get at Gordon).
Batman and Robin manage to defeat Joker. But when Batman decides not to kill Joker for what he did to Babs, Dick quits being Robin and moves to Bludhaven (eventually becoming Nightwing).
After Batman delivers Joker to Gordon, the relationship between Batman and Gordon is healed. The Bat Signal goes up and Batman goes on a solo stretch for a while. Babs becomes Oracle and helps heal the relationship between Dick and Bruce; alsk convincing Bruce to get a new partner, bringing us to Jason...
This is going on to be a REALLY long comment, so I'll just say that when Batman refused to kill Joker, Joker's curiosity was piqued and his next goal would be to see if he could do something to bring Batman to kill.

Impressive timeline. So Bruce would be in his early to mid 40s with Babs and Dick being in their late teens or early 20s

If Rogues of Arkham takes place place in 2015, Bruce Wayne would be born in 1972. So his parents die in 1980. He goes to train abroad around 1990. Bruce comes back as Batman around 2000.
In 2003, this article is issue of Gotham Gazette comes out. Probably marking one of Batgirl's earliest (or first) outing with Batman and Robin. Robin was probably working with Batman for about a year at this point. I'd peg Robin and Batgirl at 17 here.
In 2006, Jason starts as Robin and Helena serves as Batgirl briefly, being replaced by Cassandra in 2007. In 2008, Jason dies and is secretly resurrected via Lazarus Pit. Tim debuts as Robin in 2010, and leaves in 2011, being replaced by Stephanie for a spell. Tim returns in 2012 and Stephanie becomes Batgirl. Damian becomes Robin in 2014 at the age of 13 (slighlty older than his comic book portrayal).
Thus the Bat family's age in 2015 are:
Alfred Pennyworth: 60
Bruce Wayne: 43
Barbara Gordon: 30
Dick Grayson: 29
Helena Bertinelli: 27
Jason Todd: 24
Cassandra Cain: 24
Tim Drake: 19
Stephanie Brown: 19
Damian Wayne: 14

Really? Damian?
It's your universe and your story and I respect that, but not only can I absolutely not stand Damian, but I don't think I can get past the Batman family being Batman/Bruce Wayne, Robin/Tim Drake, Batgirl/Cassandra Cain, Oracle Barbra Gordon, and maybe Jason Todd as Red Hood (Spoiler and Huntress etc are cool too). This is just my [strongly held as a lifelong Bat-fan] opinion, and this is your story, so do what you think is best, but since it isn't concrete yet, I feel the need to comment.

So noted and I respect your opinion, but to me the Batman family also consists of Bruce's actual family of which Damian is a part. To me, the Damian character is one meant to grow on you. You can dislike him very easily, but if you let him grow on you and give him time to mature in the care of Bruce and reject the teachings Talia instilled, he starts to become an interesting character. You're free to hold to what opinions you so wish for whatever reasons you desire, we all do (I believe Batman Begins is the superior film to The Dark Knight, for example); and I appreciate you making your feelings known. For what little comfort it is, if you stay tuned to my page in the next few weeks, you might notice that the Damian in this imagining of the Batman mythos is significantly different than the one from the DC comics. Much like my takes on Bruce Wayne & Talia al Ghul differ from what is commonly depicted in the comics.

Well, I'm glad this worked out. I've never really given too much thought to Damian as a growing character, however, I have always admired the character in a "Possible Future" context, like this one: jasonhohoho.deviantart.com/art… (You should check out the rest, they're really cool!)

To me, Tim is just a great Robin. I'll be glad to see your spin on the character, as I have enjoyed them all so far, and it seems like (In my opinion) You are handling the Batman-Catwoman-Talia triangle excellently.

Additional note: If you're still working on the Arkham staff, I have a few ideas for the morgue workers...

I'm always open to ideas. There's another batch of Arkham workers being prepared so feel free to send me your ideas. I might use some.

Also, Tim is my favorite Robin.

Still, love the timeline set up.Two questions. Does Rogues take place in 2015? So, does Canary and Batwoman fit in also or Canary is with Green Arrow and Batwoman on her own?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Roysovitch In reply to AzureVirgo [2015-11-02 18:04:41 +0000 UTC]

Canary will show up. She's probably in her mid- to late 30's. Likewise, Batwoman is around the same age. I haven't figured out where they fit exactly.

So this means that Barbra chose the name "Batgirl" in this universe... huh

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Roysovitch In reply to GoombaGroundPounder [2015-11-02 01:37:40 +0000 UTC]

Not necessarily. A later article could renamed her Batgirl.
Or she could have been named Batgirl upon her first sighting and Jim Gordon just misquoted her as Bat-Lady.

This must be early on in Batman's career or just because GCPD's official policy is to arrest vigilantes, doesn't mean they will.
