Description The file is quite big, sorry.

This is a step-by-step "tutorial" for my latest deviation, "Blue."

This lesson gives a walkthrough on coloring skin and hair with Copic sketch marker system, using the brush tip. There is no use of colorless blender in this tutorial - sorry, I ran out of colorless blender ink and cannot show you the techniques it can utilize. Maybe next time.

This way is my way, and if you want to do this the wrong way, then my way is the best, haha.

I've always wondered this: Are you allowed to mix the use/layer colouring with both Ciao and Sketch Copics?

I bought the 72A set for Sketch but I want to buy skin colours to make it up for my set.
But Im wondering if i should buy the colours in Sketch or just in Ciao to save some cash.

Is it alright to mix the use of Ciao and Sketch in general for colouring?

yes, all copics use the same ink. so you can use them togehter if you wish. the only difference are the nibs and the size of the pen. copic sketch are also refillable, while ciao isn't.

ciao are actually refillable too

I think i'll stick with sketch since copics are refillable anyways so might as well invest in the sketches = ]

Thanks

I like this, though, i still can't get my head round the whole copic colour idea..hmmm i use pecils and pens and my art is OK but its not great either. Do you think you could look at some of my pictures and give me some pointers or tips on how i could improve them please?

i just turned 18 this summer. cartoongirl7 and i are friends :]
rivals? does that mean you're going to send us threats and and challenge us to pokemon battles!? D: wahhhh!!!

volumegx In reply to rubberyjido [2008-09-16 16:39:58 +0000 UTC]

>_< lmao nah, making up threats and battling is too much hassle for me, i just wana get better at drawing by having a "damn, that artist is better than me, i've gotta get better" attitude lol(i thinks its called rivalry...one sided rivalry lmao) so that means you dont have to do much lol...

i have a question: to get better at drawing, do i need drawing buddies?? 0_o...?

rubberyjido In reply to volumegx [2008-09-17 03:52:57 +0000 UTC]

mmm i've actually shown significant improvement within the last month or so. mainly because i've made a binding promise to draw something each day; a sketch a day. anything and everything you want to draw. but you need to define what you thin is "better" - i've been working on versatility and other things.

mainly, all i can say is practice. but being around people who draw also might help motivate you to draw more often and practice. if they're better than you are, they can help you by critique or by correcting you. but there are people who just draw on their own.

good luck!

a sketch a day...as in, a little doodle on paper or something more serious? there arent that many artists at my school (and the art teachers scare me...seriously, i'm serious) =_= so i'm pretty much all alone lol ^_^"
anyways, i'm probably botherin you lmao ^///^
thanks for the luck!! XD

rubberyjido In reply to volumegx [2008-09-18 04:51:46 +0000 UTC]

Doodles on paper work, but as you go on continuing this sketch a day you might want to try to be a little more of a perfectionist and serious about it. Try drawing before you go to bed! I used to do that but instead I stayed up late drawing and forgot to go to bed...

Hey whats manga paper??! And where you get it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rubberyjido In reply to ZunnybLoLa [2008-09-05 04:37:26 +0000 UTC]

Mmm manga paper is the paper manga artists use to draw their comics on. There are usually some blue boundaries and measurments on one side, while the other side is blank. Since manga artists have so much of the paper, they usually just flip it over to do their cover art or color spreads. There are many brands available, from Copic and DELETER, which you can find online or even at art supply stores now. If you have a Kinokuniya (japanese book store) near you, they should stock it.

rubberyjido In reply to RakiStar [2008-06-15 02:07:03 +0000 UTC]

you can buy copics online, on ebay, or at some art stores. if you have a kinokuniya (japanese bookstore), you might be able to find some there.
