Do you have any suggestions on how to color other metals, such as steel? I'm failing miserably at it right now. >_<

uhh it's a special edition copic marker (for year 2000 i think) so the marker is just black... i thought it was cool XD

Very helpful tutorial!
But I was wondering how you make a sort of water color 'droplets/splats' effects in your backgrounds.
Is it the same technique used on how you used on the metal plate shown in this tutorial?

You would use a lighter color on top of a darker color. Know that you can ruin your marker this way though, so either be very careful or buy a second marker just for making that effect or spare brush tips.

the techniques are very useful... particularily the blotting one for the little brown paper thing? I had always wondered how artists get that effect, so now I know! Thanks for making this!

I'm always afraid to waste my copic markers away since I'm not skilled. So I haven't use them much ever since I bought them (probably less than 5 times). But ig I never practice, I did never get better in this D:
Still, afraid to waste ink >_< They're so expensive too!
Anyway! I have a question about Copic. Do you know how to use Colorless blender? It seem to many artist that it helps a lot, but I never figure or know how it works. Online pages doesn't really tell me much HOW it exactly works =/

Hehe okay, about Colorless Blender. Colorless Blender basically like.. a dissolver? It dissolves other colors, making them lighter - for easier blending and transition between two different colors.
Most will coat the area they desire to color with colorless blender first, then apply a layer of color.
For example, on the face. You would use colorless blender this way to leave parts that are white because of lighting.
I particularly use it in my dotting technique - I dab several different colors, and they don't all have to be on top of each other, you can be messy. Then I dab colorless blender on top to let colors flow into each other...
It's quite hard to show you with just an explaination, but it's like applying water to watercolors - it makes it lighter and blend better.

ohh haha. the black copic marker is like.. special edition? i think it came out in 2000 or something, because it says something like year 2000 anniversary on it.
yea it's just a normal copic but it's black instead of white.
