Description Here is the Grim Rabbit. He is a zombie reaper bunny, inspired by Pleinair's pet Usagin-san. Google him if you don't know what I mean. I won't deny that I adopted almost all of Usagi-san's characteristics. Anyway, he appears to pets on the day that they're supposed to die, and usually ends up causing their death unintentionally one way or another. He owns a pocket watch that he usually keeps in the pocket of his cloak, and there are rumors that he has a scythe somewhere, but no one has ever seen it. No one has ever seen what he looks like underneath his cloak...

So! This is done for my Toy Arts class, and this guy is my toy. For the class. Yeah. I was going for the scary cute feel, disturbing yet adorable, etc. etc. I cycled through a number of animals, raccoon, giraffe, unicorn, panda, etc. but ended up sticking with the rabbit, just because it's so iconographic for being cute and lovable. I mean, who doesn't think bunnies are cute?? And then the bunny was an army bunny for a while, but I wasn't satisfied, so I changed it to the darkest occupation that I could think of, which just so happened to be the harbringer of death.

His design is still in the processing stage, and I don't know if I'm going to end up sticking with this occupation, mainly because there have been too many disturbing yet adorable (maybe not all that I've seen were adorable) bunnies, and the grim reaper idea is kinda overdone. I painted this in PS, going for a more painterly feel, rather than just lineart and blocks of color which I've been doing a bit recently. Of course, I ended up trying to go for Haradaya's style, and he invented Usagi-san, so... yeah...

This isn't Usagi-san though. Just saying.

So.... yeah.

It's been a while, and though usually, after I get back onto DA after a long time, I do a splurge of art stuff, but this time, it's just this one. Or who knows, maybe I'll actually go through and upload some renders of the stuff I did last semester?
