I always felt so bad for Fran; she has to go through so much tragedy and we don't even know if her only friends are even real or just a figment of her fractured imagination
. When you really think about it, there are a lot of stories about children exploring fantastical worlds. Chihiro from Spirited away could also fit into this group of girls who have traveled to fantastical worlds...it seems like some sort of trope to have a young girl who goes on a fantastical adventure...I'm sure there's a name for it and even if it's a trope I still like it.Β
