Description
Watching 'Pooh's Grand Adventure: The Search for Christopher Robin' and then the 'Christopher Robin' trailers when they first came hit me right in the feels. Not to spoil much, but the beginning of 'Christopher Robin' reminded me of 'Up' in terms of emotional impact.'Christopher Robin' itself was touching for me to watch, beyond the nostalgic factor and seeing older versions of characters from my childhood (I did like the touch of the Winnie the Pooh characters looking more 'used'). The conflict between harsh adulthood and imaginative childhood is close to home for me, particularly since I am in a frustrating 'limbo' stage of my life as a young adult. I can relate to Christopher Robin's struggles to an extent because I am struggling to maintain creativity, passion, and cheerfulness while surviving the grind and not-so-nice events in my life.
It felt good to draw these characters officially for the first time. I used to trace printed pictures of them when I was a kid (like with Neopets and Pokémon hehe). Winnie the Pooh was surprisingly difficult to draw as adorable rather than creepy haha.
This movie has reminded me (again) that I need to get an Eeyore (at LEAST) plushie someday!

"Christopher Robin" is now my favorite film to come out this year. I must say, you did a good job with the characters here. What made the film unique is how it all comes together, and it captured just that. Growing up with Pooh, I can relate to things similar to what they are going through. It's an enjoyable film and this for Winnie the Pooh art, it's a fine work of art indeed.

Seeing this drawing really makes me want to see Christopher Robin if its still in cinemas where I am, as the emotions in this piece are heartbreaking in how it captures the moods of a man forced to move past his childhood . As someone who misses his childhood at times, this hits home for me.
I like how you drew the more worn toys and the your take on the characters while also capturing the mood of the 70s film in the top one.

That is what I wanted to capture for this piece. Seeing Christoper Robin being forced to abandon the values of his childhood and experience some very tough times as a young man was indeed sad to watch.

I think I may see that film this weekend - it sounds sad, but it definitely feels like it would be something that would resonate with me.

As a life long Pooh fan, and as a person who lost a mom that loved Pooh, I can relate to this 100 Zillion %

Aww, such a touching response! ;o; The movies pull on my heartstrings and make me more teary-eyed than they did as a child. I think I will always have a place in my heart for 'Winnie the Pooh'.
