Description
To celebrate The Force Awakens, have some not-Star Wars.---
Named after Admiral Khani Maganorsk, whose leadership during the Fifth Imperial-Federation War saved the Duzhonev Imperium from destruction, the Maganorsk-class destroyer has become a common sight in the Empire's core battlefleets and throughout the colonies. Whether it is orbiting Dondrukovskrad, protecting colonies or patrolling the Neutral Zone, the Maganorsk-class is intended to protect the Empire's fleets and far-off worlds from swarms of smaller foes, such as drones or pirate vessels.
Although just over half the size of the Empire's Dondrukov-class battlestars, the Maganorsk-class can hold its own in a battle against the nuisances to the Empire's strength. Pirates, minor alien species, and rebels such as the Gresi Alliance are typically hunted down by Maganorsk-class destroyers. The Maganorsk-class is equipped with both a hyperdrive and a warp drive: the former for inter-system jumps, and the latter for intra-system jumps. This dual engine system gives the Maganorsk-class excellent strategic maneuverability, making it an excellent choice for minor missions, when a battlestar would not be called for. Those Maganorsk-class destroyers that are intended for system patrol are equipped with tractor beams, allowing the Empire to capture criminals and rebels and adequately show them the price of defying the Emperor's will. Operating in an Imperial fleet, the Maganorsk-class is intended to protect battlestars from foes which can deploy tens of thousands of drones in a single battle, such as Consortium PMCs.
The Maganorsk-class is armed with several hundred heavy blaster, turbolaser and ion cannon batteries. While lighter than those on a battlestar, these weapons can shred through drones and smaller vessels. To save on space, most of which is used for weapon and support systems, the Maganorsk-class has no compliment of drones, and must rely on other fleet elements such as battlestars or dedicated carriers to bring drones to battle. The Maganorsk-class also has no dedicated space for contingents of Imperial Army troops, because sector lords objected to the idea of ships that would find considerable use in patrolling the colonies having the capability of carrying planetside troops. The Maganorsk-class's handicap is a result of a compromise: the Navy would be allowed to patrol colonies established by sector lords for their own use, but these worlds would be defended by the sector lords' own troops. Thus, a Navy captain could not take over a lord's holdings without threatening orbital bombardment - a threat which is not taken lightly when directed against Imperial subjects. As the Imperial Navy would send battlestars in the case of large rebellion or international conflict, the Navy agreed to these terms

Yes, that will probably be next.

Looks like a Star Destroyer crossed with a Battlestar. I assume the actual Battlestars look similar?

Yes. They'll take more cues from Venators than Imps.

Any Executor or Eclipse analogues? I noticed the Tesh-wing is a blend between TIEs (fighters and interceptors) and Vipers. Also does the Second Empire Remnant use similar designs? Having just become back from watching the Force Awakens you should consider making the Second Imperials take cues from the First Order.

There are larger battlestars.
The Second Empire takes from the Forerunner, Xel'Naga and other similar civs.

I don't care how predictable it makes me, it's a great movie!

I'm trying to find a way to incorporate MERCHANDISING into Space Cadet, but the idea of the Empire selling merch based on its own society is too silly, even for this.

I do think that "Evil will always triumph over good, because good is dumb!" and "Shit! Even in the future nothing works!" sums up this setting pretty well, though.
