Description
This is a rough doodle I have been working on for a while now. I originally started it to submit to Prehistoric Times for their latest issue featuring Iguanodon but deadlines and a hectic work schedule prevented me from hitting the deadline.I have always wanted to see a juvenile Iguanodon being pursued by an adult Baryonyx. Baryonyx has almost always been portrayed as being entirely a fish eater yet fossil sites have revealed Iguanodon bones in their stomachs. Whether or not this was a result of scavenging behavior or an active hunt has yet to be determined but I liked to imagine a juvenile Iguanodon, separated from the herd would make a tasty meal for an adult Baryonyx.
As it stands the sketch is done. This was drawn entirely in flash.
Eventually I may clean this up further and add color but for now I'm calling it finished.

AHA!!!!! Baryonyx only eating fish is like assuming grizzlies only eat fish. NAH! Have him CHASE that iggy-tooth!!!!!
One thought...mebbe I'm wrong, but I have to wonder if any theropod could have run in this here bad boy's position...LOOKS like he's close to 45 degrees off the horizontal, and that means his caudo-femoralis (?spelling???) muscles are already mostly contracted for pulling back the leg. Most likely awkward and very painful for ol' Big Claw there.
Paleo King would most likely know, or David Hone (Archosaur musings blog site!). Just my two shiny new pennies' thoughts....

Thanks dude! Yeah I didn't look at any reference for either of these. Just sketched them out and went for a good feeling of weight. I'll definitely reference G.S. Paul's Princeton Field Guide to Dinos before I clean it up and make sure things are articulating properly and not over extending.
