Description
I'm slowly getting better in the presentation of my tutorials - my cel-shading one was sort of crap -.-Anyway this is how I colour my pics when I do them soft-style (Well at least my current style anyway
Yes, very long and repeditive isn't it?
[link] to see the final piece ^_^ - there's a link on that page to the original lineart.
BTW The lineart used in this tutorial is not my own, it belongs to Burukutong.

This is awesome.
Thanks a ton. But what opacity do you use on step 9?

Thanks ^_^, no problem!
Same as the first shadow colour ~10% for non-reflective items and ~20-40% for reflective objects.

Just curious, what's the differences between this tut and your other one that you used Amp for? They look similar, but I didn't read thorugh all of them yet so there's probably some difference in there. I need to decide which one I'll use to color later.

This is an example of the two types of shading (the middle one was just random - so you can basically discount that one) [link]

Ah, cell shading vs soft-style...I like the cell shading better, I'll use that one to shade my next pic

O.o?
The one I did with Amp used flat colours, called cel-shading, and is much easier and less time-consuming to do.
This one is soft-style shading, and it uses gradients to create the shading and it is much more realistic style of shading. The drawback is that it takes a lot longer to do and the PSD file is *HUGE!!!* because it has so many layers (for this particular piece I think it had about 30 layers - just for the colours and shading of Dion! (not including the lineart, background, the monster or the poster)

Uwah! 30 layers? DEFINATELY sticking to cell shading XD Looks cooler, too, imo.

It is easier, less steps ^^, depending on the lineart - but most of the time it does look cooler

Umm, I suppose other ways to colour lineart/ or drawing stuff anime style ^_^. I've seen some on how to specifically do eyes - I've got a couple of different methods, but I just need to get around to organizing it into a tutorial
