Description Created in about four hours using Inkscape. The only non-vector part is the glow under the loop, which I created in Paint Shop Pro and imported back into the original vector drawing.

great going!
lovely choice of colours.

i liked diamondie's idea too;
text stretching out.. with less spacing at the center and widening at the edges..

btw, u might be able to simulate the glow effect by using a linked offset and gradients.

I'm rarely attracted to minimalistic digital art, but I like this piece. The concept is really nice and the composition and the gradient work just great. However I think the font could be better, it looks different in style than the rest of the picture. I might have used all lowercase and a wider kerning, as if the text was also spreading to infinity.

Now that you mention it, the text does bother me. I haven't been able to put my finger on the problem, but I bet your idea fixes it. Thanks for pointing that out!

The flow against the infinate of binary is interesting in this piece. It goes beyonf limits.

Exactly! Digital technology is our connection to a world of infinite possibility.

Thank you for the encouragement! This abstract minimalism is a new style for me, and I'm glad people like it. Actually, your comment gave me the idea for my next picture, which is here: [link] Thanks for inspiring me!

Looks really nice, Have you got a mac?
Inkscapes not working for me you see and

i would like to try and fix that problem.

No, I use a PC. A friend had some trouble with Inkscape on his Mac, though, and here is what he says:

If you are running later than OS X Tiger 10.4 you will need to download the X11 software from Apple at [link] . Or, if you already have OS X Tiger, you will need to insert your OS Disc #1 and run a Spotlight search in the CD for "X11User.pkg". Once you find and install that file, start another search for "X11SDK.pkg" and install that. Once you have both of those installed (with the OS Disc inside your drive), take out the disc, run the inkscape.dmg install file, and X11 will pop up. It might take a minute or two the first time you try but it will load.

Inkscape is perfect for things like your bubble wallpaper. Just remember, when it comes to vector art, transparency and gradients are your best friends.

Thanks for the help.

Just wondering but what is vector graphics (playing dumb) I dont actually know although i may have used some without realising. And any idea how to do fractals.

In traditional drawing tools like Photoshop, the artist manipulates a grid of pixels. Although this approach is flexible, it has no inherent structure. There is no way to manipulate a single element in the picture, such as the size of a square, since there are no independent elements. Everything the artist does is inextricably merged into the pixel grid.

Vector art is the complete opposite. In a vector drawing tool, such as Inkscape, the artist specifies the individual image elements such as shapes, curves, and colors. The elements remain individually editable, since there is no β€œixel grid” in a vector drawing. Although this approach allows the artist to continually refine the work, the lack of a pixel grid prevents techniques such as brushing and filtering. This, for example, is why I had to import the smooth glow from another program. For minimalist artwork though, I think the trade off is worth it.
