Description "Yield, mother... you've lost!"
"Damn you, Eonan! I should have known you'd turn on me, too!"
"Turn? Turn?! I love you, mother! But I won't let you hurt anyone else, least of all, Suri."
"She's a traitor! She's plotted against me ever since you started courting her. And because of her, all dragonkind has turned on me... me, their divine queen! And thus the seeds devour the trees."
"Do you not hear yourself? Can you not see your own madness? Suri is as capable of betrayal as an unhatched egg. She has helped to protect our realm and our race since the day father gave us his blessing. We have no secrets from each other."
"So you say... I'll never let her sit upon my throne, sleep in our family's eyrie, or rule over Kairegorn's dragons. Mark my words, I will have her blood for her insurrection. So will the sea devour the sky."
"The great elders have spoken! You are no longer fit to rule! You challenged me to single combat and lost. I don't wish to kill you, mother, but if you don't surrender, I will."
"So what will you do, then, Eonan the Usurper? Imprison me? Banish me? Sentence me to service? The moon is half full and sits inside the glass."
"I would see your mind restored. You're sick, mother. You've been very sick since father was killed, and you need help. Let us help you."
"You'll never be a good king, my sinful son. You have no gullet with which to crow, and no Firestone to water."
"You're right about one thing, mother... I'll never be a ruler like you. I will strive to be better, more compassionate, and understanding. That is my promise as king. Guards, escort her majesty to the Skelleton Clan's vale. Maybe they can help her where I cannot."
-King Eonan Cloud-Dancer upon defeating his mother, Medea the "mad queen" in single combat after she tried to arrest and execute Eonan's mate, Suri.

King Eonan Cloud-Dancer is known by many titles. He is the Usurper, the Cobalt King, and the Slavers' Bane. But above all else, he is the King of all Dragons. The first-born son of Queen Medea and Prince Drakefang, Eonan was the first and only heir to the throne for the first 290 years of his life. During this time, he wandered far and wide, often participating beside the dragons of The Order of the Dragon Riders in fighting their evil counterparts known as The Dark Corps, led by the traitorous dragon rider Delthyon and his dragon, Sauros. Many were Eonan's victories and losses, and he was a high commander for his mother's aerial wing-guard, the term dragons applied to their standing army. His skills and tactics were such that many of his allies compared him to his ancestor, the brilliant Theras Cloud-Dancer, the bane of dragon slayers. He also was an adamant proponent of relief efforts to help refugees uprooted by the Dark corps.
His bond with his father was strong, but as the war continued to drag on throughout his life Eonan saw his relationship with his mother become strained. She grew more strict and ruthless, and paranoia began to seep into her mind. Thankfully, Drakefang could help her overcome this, and she remained firm but fair-minded for many centuries. However, she never approved of Eonan's choice of a lover when he fell for a dragoness named Suri. Here too, Drakefang kept Medea in her place, reminding her that Eonan's happiness was important. For a time, she agreed.
Eventually, Eonan would discover his parents would lay another clutch of eggs, of which only one proved fertile. When his parents gave this egg, which would hatch his brother Thorinen, to the Order of the Dragon Riders as a show of support for the dragon riders and their bonded humanoid partners over the course of the long war with the Dark Corps, Eonan was perplexed. Though he respected the agreement, Eonan was confused as to why his younger brother was chosen to bond with a humanoid, and he was slow to bond with his brother after his hatching due to the vast age difference between them. This rift slowly closed, but Eonan never would fully understand his brother's bond with his rider, Kaine.
All the while as Eonan grew ever closer to Suri, they began to talk about siring their own clutch of eggs. However, their plans were interrupted by the murder of Prince Drakefang. Eonan was inconsolable for a time at this news, and began to hunt for the murderers with vengeance in his here. In doing so, he killed many high ranking warriors from the Dark Corps, and brutally killed their collaborators as he led his forces to war. He would return home briefly to take Suri as his mate, vowing to return and raise a family with her as promised. However, Eonan's closest allies and the council of mindstone lich elders begged him to return home; Eonan's quest for vengeance had taken him too far away, and Medea had slipped into insanity, killing or banishing several innocent dragons for incidents that she felt constituted betrayal. Suri was to be next, with the queen branding her a spy without providing any evidence.
Arriving just in time to stop the execution, Eonan, having seen his mother's depravity, declared she was no longer fit to rule. By now, Eonan could see what his mother had become; cruel, irrational, unhinged, and physically sick. Medea, outraged by this declaration, challenged her son to a duel; if she won, he would die with Suri, but if he won, he would become king. With the elders as witnesses, Eonan accepted, and engaged his mother in a duel. Though she was older and more experienced, Eonan was stronger and unhampered by a broken mind like Medea was. Still, the battle was primal and bloody, and both dragons landed terrible wounds on one another. Eventually however, Eonan won out, and defeated his mother, who branded him with his title "Eonan the Usurper" (a title he wears proudly in remembrance of stopping his mother's insanity). Eager to see his mother restored to health, Eonan effectively banished her to the mountain vale ruled by the Skelleton dragon clan, there the clan's wisest healers could treat her without fear of her escaping. Since then, Eonan has ruled as king of the dragons, and has stood vigil over his race throughout Kairegorn.
Though his reign has not been long, his time served as heir to the throne has earned him the respect of his race, and in the first five years of his reign, he has done much to improve the lives of the people around him. It was he who ordered all slavers to be killed on sight, and to rescue their captives whenever possible. It was also he who created the organization known as the Wings of Solace, a relief group that aids in helping war refugees and the victims of natural disasters, predator attacks, and liberated slaves.
Eonan has also since provided heirs of his own to succeed him; He and Princess Suri conceived three children: Alisha, Adhira, and Centis, all now grown. With Alisha as his chosen heir and all his children grown, House Cloud-Dancer stands secure, ready to lead dragonkind for centuries to come.
In personality, Eonan is very wise and generally very kind to most who cross his path or consult with him as he sits on his throne, but holds no tolerance for anyone of evil nature. This extends to the worst of humanoid and dragonkind; poachers, murderers, psychopaths, sociopaths, necromancers, and more. Anyone who kills, murders or tortures for pleasure is an enemy to be crushed beneath his talons. His hatred of slavery is such that even where most other dragons abhor and despise slavery, Eonan flies into a very rage at their actions, going so far as to brutally kill any slaver he can catch, often through tooth and claw. He often keeps their melted weapons as trophies and turns them into sculptures, placing them across various crossroads in Kairegorn as a reminder that dragons do not tolerate slave labor. All but the most evil people who see them heed these warnings well.
His compassion for the innocent is rivaled by few, and he sees the humans, elves, and dwarves who live in peace with dragons as his allies, though he considers himself as a dragon of few friends. Those he has are his confidantes, and to them he entrusts his deepest secrets. However, his relationship is distant with Thorinen. While he genuinely cares for Thorinen, they differ on opinions regarding many things including their mother's usurpation at his talons. Though both agree that Eonan was right to overthrow her, Thorinen believes it could have been done differently, and through less violent means than single combat.
In color, Eonan has blue scales edged with black, an excellent contrast to his green-colored brother. Eonan is also much larger than Thorinen; at 300 feet in length, he is of larger size than most for a dragon. Though he is not the biggest dragon, he does rank as large enough to be of exceptional proportions. He also has unique hands on his wings, which he uses to manipulate objects, much as humanoids do, as he uses his four feet for walking alone.
Exceptionally skilled with magic, he is well versed in many types of spells, and has learned consistently at the talons of the council of elders. This makes him an immensely powerful spell caster, and a formidable enemy to the Dark Corps.

The next dragon to get a revision. Not much was needed, but like his younger brother, I removed Eonan's cheek spikes to make his expressions more readable. He heavily resembles his brother, but likewise looks more regal, elegant, and older. His crown needed no modification, though I sometimes wonder how it stays on his head. I like to think a spell his ancestors created keeps the massive crown in place, letting him do as he wishes without it falling off, like a mystical magnet with clamps to go behind his brow ridges.
