Turn up your speakers, this one talks!This was my animation final! I'm pretty excited about it because I really felt like I hit a learning curve in my work- FINALLY. It's no secret that I struggle tremendously with animation, but I think there's some hope for me yet, at least.
This was my first time going back to FBF animation in flash after a while of working paper-pencil, and I'm really happy with how well the process went. I'm even happier that working in flash worked out because that means I can practice outside of school now, on my own.
sound clip is from Madagascar and the characters are (based off of) the birds/owls from Sleeping Beauty

To animate took about 2-2.5 weeks, but that is also because I am still learning and was taking two other classes at the time.

Birds visit my backyard every day, and you captured the scurrying motion of the smallest bird so perfectly...it's exactly what a startled bird would do.
Same thing with the O__O look of the birds...I used to have a parakeet, and if we ever put something new in its cage (a mirror, for example) she'd stare at it with the same look.

This is really great! I love the crazy, flailing, googly-eyed movements of the owl, and also the much more subtly terrified birds. Their pull-back from the own, the hopping away, the dilation of their eyes, and the uncertain shifting of the taller bird's eyes to the shorter bird. Lovely fluid motion and character interaction.
