Hello, I've made some changes to your vs in Simple Detail Style. Centered the title text and changed menu selection color:

After going through ALL of the current win8 visual styles to date, i had to leave a comment here saying that yours (while maybe not the most accurate) is by FAR the most professional looking! Please take this as a very big compliment as it is meant!

Nice job SalmanAMD, but I agree with RappinRod that MS is devolving into nasty visual styles with Windows 8. It's not your fault but Win8 looks just plain flat and boring.

I would use your VS as a change of pace, but only if you made a full SuperBar and a complete orb or none at all, not one that's circumcised.

Thank you for sharing.

Hey man! Great work with this! Can you make one like this but with a superbar task bar like in Windows 8? With an updated start button as well? Thanks so much!

Superbar style cannot be applicable with Windows XP Visual styles because Windows 8 icons can be viewable upto 256 pixels. that why Windows 7 and Windows 8 taskbar icons look large. but Windows XP cant do it properly.

I hope a finished Windows 8 runs better then it looks..Of the thousand or so of xp visual styles I have installed and modified over the last 10 years it just seems Microsoft has once again gone backwards with their newest visual style its just plain ugly in my opinion and is nuthing new...Thanks SalmanAMD for another nice copy of Metro,,you have tried very hard to copy the style and I know how much time you put into it,,but I just wont use it because Microsofts Windows 8 and Metro visual styles are just plain ugly in my opinion...

Can you remove a start button? Or just make it invisible and 1px wide?

SalmanAMD In reply to VikHollow [2012-08-17 19:11:28 +0000 UTC]

There is no Start Menu and Start Button in Windows 8, Start Button can be removed, then it will look like a blank space.

Please just make a style without start button and centered caption for people to choose. And what about context menu selected element? Could you make it just like in the style [link] ?

check out Vher528's version with no Start button here: [link]

I believe he has a version with a Start button as well.

As u said: Vher528's visual style reference

Let me tell you one thing that, Windows XP taskbar native size is best because if u change the size of taskbar, it will not look like Windows 7 Task-bar actually. Have your look care after applying "Vher528's version" or any visual style of this type.

Kindly feedback

sorry, but I'm not really sure what you're asking me.  I have been running Win 7 on a new kickass PC for almost a year now and I'm quite taken with it.  I think M$ finally got it right.  I was a major fan of XP, but Win7 blows it out of the water as far as I'm concerned.

I still run XP on one of my PCs but I haven't used it in a long time.  ...and I'm not very involved with visual styles on Win 7.  I'm hoping to crank up my XP machine soon, but all my other boxes will probably run Win 7.  Sorry.

I have used Vher's Win 7 visual styles on my XP PC, but I grew to prefer the superbar over the regular taskbar.  I also tried it with and without the Start button.  No Start button was a novelty at first, but I never really got used to it -- too old school, I guess.  If I have a choice, I opt for a Start button.  If there is no Start button, then I'll adapt.  I think I used to change the Start button bitmap for the superbar on XP so the whole thing fit on the taskbar.  Other than that, the Win7 VS on XP looks very similar to my real Win 7 taskbar.  HTH

can you center the caption text?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SalmanAMD In reply to Skrell [2012-08-17 19:08:37 +0000 UTC]

Yes, Caption Text could centered but it will look awkward because in Windows 8, the caption text is centered but without icon. In Windows XP, Caption text is expressed with program/folder icon.

Thanks for taking interested in making visual styles.

If you really want to make these visual styles, you need StyleXP program. it free trial program available by searching Google.

Before taking this step, Please note that: This work requires real-time concentration of mind & struggle

Take original images of Visual styles "assume that you are creating Windows 8 Metro visual style for Windows XP" then you need the original the Visual style file or take Original screen shots which can help you more easily copying the original view of actual visual style.

If above description is not enough then you can ask freely. Good Luck.
