Description
Outside Budapest, I was treated to an Indian Classical theatrical dance. There were 3 ladies, I forget this one's name but she is from Germany and studied intensively in India for some years. The Theatre is called Muvelodesi Kozpont near the Mum Park Mall. Very professional performance and a good crowd as well. This position is called the "Lotus" which is the classical pose of the goddess Laxmi, its part of the classical dance called "Bharata Natyam" in India which is philosophically like the ballet in the West.

Hey, that was well composed. Also, the lighting is really good. It actually emphasizes the features of the artist and also overwhelms the audience with the striking pose!! Nice snap

thx for the comment, and Im not sure how dificult the pose may be since I never took classical dancing, I'll ask my sister and let u know... oh and as the typical sayings in indian mythology are.... "The difficulty is in ur mind, not ur body"... or something like that...
Cheers!

Thx Lucio....Im glad u guys like it...its like most national dances world wide ..... Im really happy they know about Odissi in Brazil... Odissi originates from Eastern part of india which is the gateway to SE Asia and China while this one is from the Southern part of India.

thats true, with the music and real life experience, it was strong, I noticed how the audience was captivated throughout the most exciting as well as sombre quiet moments of the dance...

Beautiful shot. I'm always intrigued by India. It's another place I would like to visit for its fascinating culture. I have read that these women have to study for years indeed, to master the body discipline and the body language required to tell a story through movements and poses. This is a gorgeous shot, I like how her face is almost completely in shadow, letting her costume and position take importance.

thx for commenting...and
yep, like ballet, its got some important disciplines of body and soul. The eyes are also used to great effect and practice in it - like any other discipline makes it more graceful.
