Artist's Notes: My team from the FireRed ROMhack Pokémon Clover. From left to right they are: Gant the Tricillion, Minilla the Krokizon, Ryu the Batterex, NIB the Premantom, Megumin the Mozzamazel, and R'lyeh the Cthullord.

Gant is a rock/steel fossil fakémon and the party tank. He is the most min maxed of the team possessing the highest non HP stats of my fakémon with attack and defence at 369 and 359 respectively, and the lowest stat with its speed at 45. Using the moves Gyro Ball and Head Smash, it could take almost anything out in one or two hits, provided he doesn't get taken out by a ground or fighting move.

Minilla is a ground/grass type caught in this game's Safari Zone. She is based on the original design of rhydon and Gen 1 pokémon in general. She would use her Horn Leech and Leftovers to continuously heal as she wore down opponents.

Ryu is a fighting/dragon type and my party's main offensive force. He is part of the game's secondary starter trio which, rather than the traditional grass, fire, water, is instead composed of fighting, flying and rock. I gave him a variety of moves and an Expert Belt in order to take full advantage of super effective moves including Sucker Punch to quickly take out psychic types before they could get to him.

  NIB is a dark/ghost type caught in this game's version of the Pokémon Tower making it an analog to Cubone and Marowak. She acted as the special tank of the team and covered much of the rest of the team's type weaknesses.

  Megumin is a fairy/fire type made in reference to the Pizza Gate conspiracy theory. Her Sweet Kiss made it very useful for catching fakémon and her fairy typing made her a secret weapon against dragon, dark, and fighting types.

  Finally, R'lyeh is a rock/water post game fossil fakémon which was only obtained through an extensive sidequest involving a hidden island and pirate treasure. He mainly serves as the HM slave and a "sacrifice" while other party members were healed, but could be used several times thanks to his Regenerator ability and would often get in a Sandstorm to widdle down the enemy team.

  Overall I really liked using this team and everyone got their time to shine. The only party members that seemed to lag behind were Megumin and R'lyeh but that was mostly because their use within the party was highly specialized. The party did have one fatal flaw, though, it was composed entirely of slow tanky fakémon with Gant being the most extreme case and Ryu being the closest thing to a hard and fast striker. Given this fact, the team had little response to opponents that hit quickly but these were eventually overcome through attrition and quick thinking.

As for Pokémon Clover itself, I have to say that it is by far the most fun I've ever had playing a Pokémon game. It combines all of the best mechanics of the first 6 generations of Pokémon and offers so much more content than any of the official games with its main game, post game and post post game. However, as you may have gleaned from some of the designs and descriptions of some of my team members, this game has a lot of very edgy and offensive concepts and jokes and so I would not recommend this to anyone who is easily upset by these things (the fakémon I've shown here are just the tip of the iceberg, it gets much crazier). If you can get past the jokes though this ROMhack is easily the most enjoyable Pokémon experience out there.
