Artist's Notes:    Now we get to one of of my favorite pieces in this series, my representation of the Jurassic Period. This one was started and completed a lot more recently than some of the others in the series and had a much clearer idea behind it when I started drawing so the image is far more focused and skilled than the past two entries, at least in my opinion. As you can probably tell by now this series was not meant to be an accurate representation of prehistory but a look into how my subconscious sees the hisory of life on Earth through the music I listen to. This is why I've mixed religious and scientific imagery in the first two pieces and why the dinosaurs are depicted as lumbering, tail dragging behemoths in this piece. This drawing was mainly based on "Jurassic/Cretaceous" by The Ocean which quickly became one of my all time favorite songs upon hearing last year. It also takes inspiration from Synthosaurus' Prehistoric Kingdom EP. Both of these have some quality that my mind automatically associates with a Stegosaurus lazily eating ferns and cycads in a prehistoric forest. The Cretaceous section of "Jurassic/Cretaceous" sounds like dinosaurs marching towards extinction so I depicted that as a banner on top of the piece. Interestingly I've always associated the end of Triassic with a small herd of prosauropods wandering through a desert, while the beginning of "Jurassic/Cretaceous" sounds like a trumpeting herd of proper sauropods, I doubt this was intentional but I've always loved this transition when listening to the songs back to back. Also, am I the only one that noticed that 2020 had an explosion of dinosaur themed music?
